Lemmy is slowly getting better

Not to sound like a jerk but I don't understand what most people expected. All new sites start slow. Facebook was slow at the beginning. Reddit too. It's not like they had millions of users and subs day one. We have the responsibility to build up this community. We want a site like Reddit but without the u/spez crap. So we better start building it up and complain less. Criticism is ok but saying "it's slower than Reddit" is kinda useless and obvious.

How Putin Fooled the Western Left

Reply in thread

I guess it depends. I'll bring my country as an example, Italy. Here we have Right parties that are pro-Russia but at the same time our president is from a far-Right party and openly against Russia. On the other side, we have many left parties that are pro-Russia, mainly because they are anti-NATO. They hate America so much they choose to side with the child abducter Putin.

Pixelfed is adding Groups, similar to communities, which will federate with Lemmy, Kbin, and Mastodon

Maybe this isn't the best thread to ask this but I'll try: is there a way to connect my Mastodon, Pixelfed and Lemmy accounts? I subscribed to Mastodon and Lemmy with my mail but I wish they were more "connceted" with each other, like I could share with ease a post I create here to Mastodon and viceversa. I would also love to create a Pixelfed account. Sorry if the question sounds a lot stupid, I'm still trying to grasp the idea of how Federated internet works.

‘The Eurocentric fallacy’: the myths that underpin European identity

Sorry, I can't bring myself to read all the article after the first few paragraphs. The author seems to purposely mix up the idea of EU having free borders (for member nations) with the notion that Europe should also have free borders with the outside world. That was never the main goal. Of course the benefits are something only for members of EU. Got it, UK? Maybe the author redeems himself in the rest of the article, I don't know.
