Why hasn't Hollywood made a movie of this guy yet?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battling_Siki

This guy's life story is insane.

1st. He's born in Senegal, technically part of France at the time, brought to Europe and then abandoned. I feel like that's already more story arc than most movies these days.

2nd. Becomes a teenage boxer. Mediocre boxer.

3rd. Joins France in WWI. France wins the war. He's a decorated hero, but still black and something of a 2nd class citizen.

4th. Becomes a championship boxer. Shockingly defeating the white French national hero in a huge fight (that may have been fixed) in front of 55,000 people. Also Ernest Hemingway was there front row and he wrote a story about it.

5th. Moves to New York. Refuses to throw fights. Becomes alcoholic and bitter.

6th. Gets assassinated. Dead at age 28.

Tell me this isn't some sort of Oscar bait fiction?

Recent boxing title challenger Hannah Rapp killed on bicycle by motorist in Texas

The affidavit notes the rear hatch of Medina’s car was crushed inward and the rear window was completely shattered. Investigators also documented skid marks from braking and a separate set of skid marks from reversing; the affidavit says the reverse skid marks appeared to show the driver steering toward something while backing up. Medina told deputies he had just left home when he passed two cyclists on the south side of FM 159. He said he heard them yell and saw them throw their hands up, and believed they were trying to flag him down, so he braked hard and came to a stop.

Medina told investigators he began backing up and did not see the female cyclist until the last moment before hitting her. When asked how fast he was reversing, Medina said, “15 mile per hour,” according to the affidavit.

An investigator later spoke with a witness identified as Rapp’s boyfriend, who told deputies he and Rapp were cycling eastbound when Medina passed them at a high rate of speed, about a foot away. Pollalis said he threw his hands up and yelled, then watched the driver brake to a stop, reverse and accelerate backward before striking Rapp, causing her head to hit the rear window and knocking her onto the roadway.

Investigators wrote that physical evidence at the scene- including skid marks, the severity of the vehicle damage and Rapp’s final resting position- did not match the driver’s account of reversing at low speed and instead indicated a heavy impact

Do you treat the yard as a room of your house?

I've noticed some people treat their lawn like a carpet. If there is 1 leaf, that's clutter that needs to be picked up. If a tire touches their grass, it's like you got oil on their rug. They've usually manicured their lawn into 1 species monoculture grass with zero weeds and zero bugs. Which because of this lack of diversity, it is now incredibly fragile.

For many people, their yard is like a room of the house. And they expect people to treat it with a living room level of respect. They've put a lot of effort into creating this fragile monoculture grass, and they're protective of it.

Maybe you can tell from the way the question is phrased, but I view the outdoors as different than indoors. If someone misses my driveway and leaves a mark in the grass, I don't care because I know the grass will grow back eventually. If leaves fall on my yard, I don't pick them up. These problems tend to solve themselves. At least that's my view. But I've noticed a lot of people see it the other way.

Why is the USA attacking Iran?

Here's the process as I understand it (please correct my errors):

  1. USA likes Israel, a lot for some reason
  2. "Israel" attacks Iran. This whole thing is being done with the USA's airplanes though.
  • Why does the USA love Israel so much?
  • What's the logic here? Not just the conspiracy. But why now? Why at all? Is Israel gaining something that I'm not seeing? Destabilization the main goal? What's the USA gaining here?

Does alcohol speed up evolution?

As I understand it, birth defects are like 99.999% of the time unhelpful. But that 0.0001% of the time the genetic freak is a huge advantage and that gets passed down in the gene pool and thus, over many many generations, evolution.

Alcohol, which is known to increase birth defects, should increase the speed at which that happens. Right? Like playing the lottery with more tickets.
