I had a computer class that was fairly self guided, do projects and tell the facilitator how it's good for community or whatever. All I would do when she walked by is go to hackertyper and tell her I was coding.

So yes.

But, don't we already make way more food than even necessary? We just don't transport it where needed. Instead we grow a shit ton of corn and make it into ethanol for fun and profit.

Source: I'm on lunch break and can't be fucked to look again. Though yours isn't sourced either so I don't feel bad.

The symptoms of ADHD happen to be things all people deal with. The inability to pay attention to things, or the restlessness of a quiet room are universal experiences. In that part you are kind of right. However ADHD specifically refers to the actual clinical deficit in executive function representing a chemical difference in the brain. Saying "Everyone has a little ADHD" is just a condescending way to put it. Different people may have different levels of annoyance with the phrase.

Everyone gets sad, not everyone has depression. Everyone worries, not everyone has General Anxiety Disorder. Everyone has pains sometimes, not everyone has Chronic Pain.

The sentiment isnt necessarily wrong, and the colloquial meaning still comes across, but it's just degrading to hear. I hate hearing someone call out a disorder as one of their quirks as much as the next guy, but more than being mildly annoying it can stand to change the perception of the thing in the public consciousness enough that someone that has a disorder might believe they are just making a big deal out of something that "everyone" deals with. Whether intended or not just keep that in mind.

(TLDR I have ADHD please don't minimize it by saying stuff like "lol computers destroy attention span", you're not wrong, just condescending.)

Genuinely realized in therapy that I had developed a trauma response of massive anxiety at my last job. Now I nearly have a panic attack when I make a mistake just waiting for someone to yell at me. Luckily this new place is much nicer :).

‘Devastating blow’: Atlassian lays off 1,600 workers ahead of AI push

A million dollars is probably just the catering budget, tbh. I don't even know what this company does, I just saw that no one else had pointed this out. It sounds like I'm lucky to not use their software.

Every company is just firing employees left and right and I'm not sure what they all expect to happen. I guess just through the magic of AI they can have less workers do more for the same pay. But damn, so many people let go all over the place.

This is the single most innocent quirk I have ever come across, if it stops you from sharing in the discourse you must not have had much to say in the first place. Seriously, our world is so fucked up that one person choosing to use an old letter for fun or personal enjoyment is sooooo far down my concerns list. You might as well be worried about what color shirt they are wearing right now.
