What made you realize your parents aren't good people? /srs

My father worked as an environmental engineer for an oil company cleaning up oil spills and messes. He wanted a certain quality of life, so we only ever lived in southern or messed up states. Texas, Missouri and 7 years in Utah. Going to elementary school with the racist bigot Mormons was hell. Long story short he is a Neo-Liberal Boomer that helped the oil industry with his efficiency and diligence cover up issues and increase profits. A money hawk and penny-pincher, who wouldn't move to blue states because of higher prices, believing in American Exceptionalism, and has zero regrets working for a company that helped destroy the world. I admit he's not the worst by a long shot. But I would have preferred being broke and poor in another country and him not working for mankind's enemies.

Forklift drivers, what's one thing that you've done by accident that's always stuck with you since it happened?

So here I was loading stuff onto a pallet. I was on foot next to my Forklift. Around the corner comes another forklift going way too fast and backwards with a double-high load. It runs right up onto my right foot and had it gone much further would have broken my leg. What happened instead was the steel-toe metal part of the boot crumpled over my big toe and other toes. It shattered the big one in several places and broke two others as well. They had to cut the boot off of me... This happened on New Year's Eve about 10 years ago. It took almost 6 months to walk normally again and a lot of physical therapy.

Why the Epic Games Store was hated during it's early existence?

Fuck Epic.. And while I'm here, screw Valve as well. You own nothing from all these "Leasers". If you truly want to archive, preserve, and hand down your games in your will to future generations, you will need GOG offline installers. I burn these on to M-Disc Media that is supposed to last hundreds of years!

I just can't with Steam anymore.. Social media is cancer, Mmos are just about preening about and showing off your fashion. Essentially all the amazing features and functionality of the Steam Client really isn't needed for the Anti-Capitalist, grumpy old people that generally hate other people, companies, FOMO and silly achievements like I'm a fucking child again.

suspiciously-colored hat, reclaimed

What always gets me is how do they not just "know" that they're the bad guys?!? Blue is the color of good guys in these games and stupid tribalistic sports, and Red is the side of the bad/evil team.. I knew this in elementary school even.. Blue good, red bad... It's so obvious.

currently free on steam: Warhammer 40k: Gladius - Relics of War

The game is fun, if basic. However, I personally wrote off this dev. The paradox-style near endless trickle of DLC is completely unacceptable. Here's my bad language, but Fuck these devs.. just release a god-damned complete game, races and armies included.. Sell well and make a second game with better mechanics, actual diplomacy, and feature-complete.. even on sale, to get all the DLC it's still a bit over $100! Garbage practices equals no buy!

For different game store, legally, what happens if they close?

It seems pretty evident to me that in the coming decade there is going to be massive world changes.. If you have any desire to actually OWN your games in the future, you really need to be burning off GOG Offline Installers of your games.

Imagine WW3 really kicks off, maybe your country gets Nuked, maybe Climate disaster fragments the internet and Steam (or the other "Leasers" of games) goes offline either way. In the grim darkness of the not-so-distant future, will you have your game library intact?
