I would live to. But edits. Edits never end. I have another round of edits, then there will be one more after that. Then I will have the actual line edits (typo revision only), then I have the OGE (office of graduate education) edits for formatting and other bullshit. All due before the manuscript deadline.

National Polling Company Admits It’s Totally Fake — Crows it Was ‘Far Too Easy’ to Get Major Media Outlets to Bite
While yes, there is the mentality of "that's what I would say if I got caught too!", they should have pre registered and sealed it as a valid experiment or signed some sealed affidavit to be revealed along with this statement. It would have made the impact even more impressive.

There are several models that still have it. When I bought my most recent phone it was one of my personal requirements. I think there were 6 or 7 models to choose from that were all essentially the same as any other modern phone, but had a 3.5 jack. That was a while ago, but there are still some new models rocking it. I use it all the time.

Fun fact- several of the contracts DOGE canceled were "preferential purchasing" contracts. Basically, the government knows it will be ordering pens, paper, computers, and all the other bullshit out there. So supply companies pitch contracts that say 'for every thing on this random list that you buy, we will sell it to you for X% under market rate, but you have to purchase the first however many hundred or thousand from us, or until you reach some amount of money.' And they pitch prices based on current market rates, even though they know these contracts are locked in for 5+ years some times and simply have some basic 2-3% yearly increase built in.
It's a win-win. The government gets to save you shit loads of tax dollars on things they were going to buy anyways, and some company is now doing massive volumes of buisness and pumping out jobs.
Then DOGE comes in and cancells all of the contracts and claims they 'saved' the amount the contract amount was for. Ignoring that the government was going to buy those things anyways. And now we have no way to purchase things. So contracts get hastily redone at post inflation prices, plus everyone is now padding their numbers, because 'if they canceled the last contracts on a whim, why won't the do the same again? And we have to make our profit.'
So now we have to pay a shit load more for everything all because DOGE wanted to claim they were saving us money.

Looking passed the absolutely insane answer here, no one has even brought up the whole issue of AC vs DC. Batteries are DC, while your fridge that plugs into your wall running on AC. I know they make DC ones, but it isn't like they are interchangeable.

This is actually a great example of how the majority of 'gender affirming care' is actually for a person who is already assigned at birth the gender they are affirming.
This male, who was assigned male at birth, is seeking gender affirming care to become... more male.

Isn't this racism?
Lol. I did two tours over there. The people loved us. They loved the government. They loved the schools for women. The problem is culturally, they didn't see a need to fight for it because of apathy. They figured "ISAF was always going to be here, so why need to fight for ourselves? And is ISAF isn't here anymore, then we can't support our selves, so why try?" As far as the schools go, they are voluntary. There are no truancy laws. They don't even take attendance at most of the schools. It was completely up to the family if they wanted to send their boys OR their girls. Under pre-ISAF taliban the literacy rate was about 15% and at the time of withdrawal it was almost 40%. The people wanted to go to school, the taliban just didn't let most of them or the schools that they did keep open were so severely limited in what they could teach.
The biggest red flag of this post, to me, is the use of the word Afghani. Any time someone says it with an 'i' at the end, you know they don't know what they are talking about. Afghani is a currency, Afghan is a person.

Breakthrough Single-Dose Drug Wipes Out Breast Tumors in Mice Without Side Effects
Am I the only one who read the paper? All the comments are like: it's only mice.
They did it in 6 different breeds of knockout mice, rats, and beagles -as in the best dog model for cancer translation to humans. They are well passed the threshold needed to show strong potential in people.
Other comments: it's new and experimental
They have been working with it for years now and have shown efficacy down to a single dose. That is what this paper is about. They had previous tests with the compound, then with decreasing doses, and now this paper will it down to a single dose.
Other comments: there is no way this is real
Of the 9 primary authors, 4 are on NIH grants. I'm taking a wild guess no one here has had to fill one of those out, but they take about a month of solid writing and submitting evidence as to why your thing should get funded due to the shortage of scientific funding, then it gets reviewed by several rounds of blinded experts in the field to evaluate if you have any merit to what you are talking about, then you have to submit regular updates to show that you aren't just pissing away tax dollars. On top of that, this was done out of a lab at the university of Illinois urbana-champaign, meaning you also have university funds mixed in so you have them checking in on you. Then they also had a state cancer research grant, adding more oversight.
How real is it? If you read the paper you would have seen they were using human tumors grown in the mice. This is a very well established cancer testing method. The downfall in their model, as they pointed out, is using NSG and athymin mice. These are immunocompromised mice. They bring up how with the necrotic cell death in the tumor (from the drug working ironically so well and so fast) that they don't know how human immune systems will respond to it and that is kind of their next direction of the research.
Read the full abstract, then at least read the discussion section near the end if you want to get a better understanding of what is going on. Then if you are still interested, go back up to the intro and read through from there till you can't any more.

Sorry for bringing politics into this community...
For those who don't know: when milk is milked out of the cow it goes through some processing, like pasteurization and separation. When milk separates the fat floates to the top and it is "skimmed" off. You can have 'whole' fat in your milk, as in they only take off the very top part of cream on top. Then you can have your 'skim' milk with no fat. Then you can add back in a percentage of the fat. This is where the most common 1% and 2% come in. In theory you can make whatever percentage milk you want. This is also where something like half and half comes in, half cream added back to half milk for a 50% ish mix.

Trump broke the federal email system and government employees got blasted with astonishingly vulgar messages
Reply in thread
It's worse than you think. Last week we got an email that looked like strait up fishing spam demanding that we were to email back "yes" confirming that we got the email. So many people even reported it as spam that we had supervisors have to directly tell us that it was legit. Then they sent out a second email with a warning that is was in fact legit and to respond to that email with "yes" if we got that one.
On the back end at OPM: Musk forced his way in and demanded to redo the email servers. The IT told him it wasn't possible for what he was asking. So he brought in his own goons to install a non government server with unknown software and unknown security configurations and they plugged it into the OPM network to spoof it as an official OPM server, then sent out those emails.
And sure enough, the idiot didn't didn't configure the security correctly or let official government IT people touch it, it ended up backdooring into the entire government HR system, and it had every active government email that responded "yes" to his stupid email that we were required to. And now we know it was compromised. There is no telling what foreign governments now have all of that info as well as what other backdoors they have installed.

But that isn't the case here. The FAA is very clear, you must have the documents or you are in the wrong. That is it. You are only innocent by having the documents. To pass off a plane are good but not have its documents very clearly puts them guilty. There is no gray area here. The FAA and NTSB are very clear about this and who is at fault. When planes change hands or get work done, everything must be documented or it never happened. To then sell a plane and claim it was up to any spec, but without it being documented, then it isn't up to spec.
The only way to prove they are innocent is to have those documents. The documents were audited, they didn't have them, so they are being charged. They have been shown beyond any reasonable doubt that they did not have the required documents, otherwise there would have been no charges. The only way to prove their innocents is to show the documents that they failed to show in the audit, that they didn't have, that lead to the charges. The reasonable doubt was already established when they failed the audit.

A photography depicting the construction of the Great Pyramid of Giza - 2565 BCE.

The pyramids are made of granite. It has a density/weight of approximately 165 lb/cubic ft. As in, a 1x1x1 block weighs about 165 lbs. This block, assuming the standard person in this picture is about 5 ft (people have been getting taller over time) this block is maybe 20 ft cubed. Just an eyeball guess. That would put it at about 1,320,000 lbs.
The picture has 6 people deep carrying the first stone with what looks like maybe 4 people across? Hard to tell. But going off 6x4 people, that would mean that each person would have to carry 55,000 lbs each.
Would it be possible? I will let you guess from that. Next question, how many eggs to support it? After some google searches the textbook theoretical best an egg can support is some 300 lbs, but in practice is closer to 120-130 with support/positioning in place (think egg cartons holding them vs just on the ground). This would mean our 1,320,000 lb stone would take between 10,000 to 11,000 eggs to support it.
How long would it take to get that many eggs??? Good question. Chicken normally lay about an egg a day. So 10,000 chicken take 1 day, or 1 chicken would take about 10,000 days. But what is a realistic amount? Well, let me tell you. In the rabbit hole I found myself in of jokingly replying to this, I found an entire dissertation on "THE EXPLOITATION OF LIVE AVIAN RESOURCES IN PHARAONIC EGYPT: A SOCIO-ECONOMIC STUDY" BY ROZENN F. BAILLEUL-LESUER (JUNE 2016)
Captivating. Would recommend rabbiting down that hole. And on page 299 we can see that a Pharoah size flock would be about 2,000 Eurasia cranes or geese. So it would take us about a week to put that block in the picture on a bunch of eggs.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

The reality of Kamala Harris' plan to tax unrealized capital gains
Biggest argument people are going to have against this is reading the headline and then realizing most their retirement is in the form of unrealized gains. But if you then just read the qualifier of $100 million, you will quickly realize we are not talking about normal people here. We aren't even talking about normal rich people. We are talking about the 1% of 1% people.

The TP USA halftime audience
This is not from the TP USA halftime show. Easily verifiable not. The real halftime show pictures look like this.

You can see the venue isn't that deep on the sides though. And all the pictures are intentionally not showing the crowd (180 view from pictures). The venue isn't that big. A large club or mid size rock lounge is about the same size. Still laughable, but we don't need to miss-attribute pictures and lie about their context.

No hate like Christian love
Before battle, crusaders would pray. After battles (if they won) they would then pillage and slaughter nonbelievers in the name of their God. Obviously the Christian God is in favor of death. The GOP is simply continuing the crusaders work at home.
