Yeah, seriously. It's one of those things where to do the translatable research it is half expected to also be a clinician, that way you know what is actually clinically relevant. So I did a clinical Doctorate and PhD combined. I started grad school at 30 (nontraditional student) and am now 38. I gave my 30s to school...
I just completed my thesis and my oral defence is coming up in two weeks. Wish me luck

I would live to. But edits. Edits never end. I have another round of edits, then there will be one more after that. Then I will have the actual line edits (typo revision only), then I have the OGE (office of graduate education) edits for formatting and other bullshit. All due before the manuscript deadline.
