What's one small thing you've done to make your life easier?

Honestly? I switched from Windows to Linux. I was working for several years at a Windows-centric computer magazine and realized a couple of years ago that many of the articles I was writing were about how to make Windows behave less like Windows. So I installed some Linux distro in a virtual machine on my work PC to play around with it for a bit. And soon after I installed Manjaro on my PC at home. Today, four years later, I've installed various Linux distros on all my PCs, and I'm much less annoyed by computer issues on a regular basis.

Linux too mainstream for some 🤷

I had a friend about 25 years ago who was very much into Quake Arena. His gaming setup ran on BSD. Now that I've been gaming on Linux for several years, I've really come to appreciate how much work it must have been to get that setup running smoothly in the late 90s. He died a couple of years ago. I sometimes wish I could call him up and get some advice.

Agreed Islam is an idea not a race.

When some redcap uses "Muslim" as a synecdoche for spitting out middle-eastern stereotypes, they're not engaging in comparative religious criticism, or making some grand philosophical argument.

This is true, but when I'm having a discussion about religion and I feel like I'm done criticizing christianity and move on to islam for a bit, people shouldn't say "woah, that sounds a bit racist", and some people still do. I'm very left leaning but I have to say it's mostly people who consider themselves progressive or left leaning, who have trouble separating these things.
