In Switzerland, there was a vote on a petition requiring new houses to include solar panels. Conservatives opposed it, arguing that construction costs were already too high without such regulations. Instead, those same people want to build massive solar farms on untouched natural landscapes. To me, the reason is obvious: energy companies want to maintain control over a centralized power infrastructure. This way, they can keep charging us high electricity prices while pocketing subsidies for infrastructure projects.

I heard in a podcast that she suffers from a blood disease which could affect the lethal injection. She and her lawyers have repeatedly tried to request that the death penalty be carried out by hanging or firing squad instead, but this was rejected by the judges.

This. I call myself football fan, but i will not watch any game or consume any kind of product carrying WC adds. this whole thing has Berlin 36 vibes all over. But sad truth is most people dont care. Most of my friends know this WC is bullshit, know that FIFA is a corrupt pile of shit and know the trump regime will try to use the WC for propaganda, they will watch the games anyway.

Operating System Political Compass - Updated version

GrapheneOS currently supports only Google Pixel devices because they are the only Android smartphones that meet all of its strict security requirements: an unlockable bootloader, proper verified boot implementation, state of the art security chip, and long-term, reliable security updates. Most other manufacturers either don’t provide these features or disable critical security functions when an alternative OS is installed.

But what I find particularly impressive is how efficiently the team operates: with likely fewer than 15 full-time developers, they consistently roll out updates within days, sometimes even ahead of Google’s official Android releases. I think the system is very balanced, a lot of the hardening stuff works in the background without really breaking anything. I had some troubles with very specific apps but most of the time it just works.

That said, their communication style and transparency can sometimes come across as aggressive or uncompromising. Pioneers in FOSS projects often prioritize progress and principle over diplomacy, and GrapheneOS is no exception.
