This has been on my mind alot, but im pretty lonely and depressed to say, i have family members but they dont like what i enjoy like we cant relate to each other usually. I want to make a robot someday that you can play games with, like it can press keys on a keyboard and move a mouse, that type of stuff? The concept seems hard and pricey for someone like me.
Would something like this even be possible in real life? or is it just another dream?
Would it be cheating if im lonely? i feel like this could possibly help people such as myself or people who are disabled in some way.
You ever just watch a YouTube guide but dont really learn anything or dont know where to go afterwards? well i made a meme about it if you have felt this way.
So i went to a focus group purely to provide feedback, now i have a 75 dollar giftcard which i have to select and withdraw but im not sure what to put the money towards? my older brother also got one. Yes i live with parents so most of my living needs are already covered.
What would be the smart thing to do here? what would you suggest and why so?
Like where is a good place to buy stl files online, so far ive only printed free files but i think i want to try those neat paid ones, im just not sure where to buy stl files from?
I mostly like useful prints like tools or anything that can help in day to day living.
What site would you suggest i checkout and why so?
Im looking for a cheap console to get and collect for that dosent cost a arm/leg but also isint boring with the game section. I have a few consoles and handhelds from when i was a kid but i want something that i can stick with and not let collect dust?
What would you suggest or advise and why so?
So there was a horrible dnd after school activity club when i was in midleschool, but it was a learning point to me. Somehow multiple players from all sorts of groups tryed/wanted to play as Shrek but most of them were turned down, some managed to sneak by though.
Anyone have a similar story by chance of someone wanting to play as a meme?
So i have autism and im 20 but yet im not sure where to go in life and parents dont really know what to do with me. Im bored and depressed way too much, i feel like i need a outlet or a way to express my possible ideas but im unsure how. Im considering gamedev or working my way up to make games but are there any other things to do alongside? what do you enjoy doing?
I turned 20 a couple of weeks ago but yet i have no skills that i would consider useful, im not even sure to with my life or what degree to study?
I just want to know what i should be doing or learning at my age that is helpful for me and people close to me. does it matter?
I know there are projects like batocera for example but i want something i cant transfer from one device to another and just boot it up from my last save. Like i want it to work portable with various linux desktops os's without the need to boot into a emulation os?
Does this make sense? if so how may i do it as a newcomer? What would you advise?
Ive always wanted to make a video game but i feel too dumb to make one. Is gamedev worth looking into still even if im not the sharpest tool in the shed?
Or are there better hobbies out there for newcomers to the hobby space? I know most of you will say do what you enjoy, the thing is im not sure what i enjoy.
Idk if this goes here but i like the linux community as they are usually kind on lemmy.
You ever just want to play a rpg but have no group or pals to play with? I made this meme to see if there are others like me.
Ive also tried online but its not the same.
I tend to overthink alot and im not sure if my ideas are good enough for a game, most of them are incomplete ideas with plot holes and such in them.
I just want to know how to get a idea and expand upon it in a simple stress-free manner?
I have included a image of my specs, im also using Linux sense thats what works on my laptop. Im looking for free to play games that will run smoothly on my system/laptop. I would like to try popular and maybe online titles.
I thought about trying old school RuneScape but idk.
Just wondering, as i am bored an curious because I'm in a position in life where i can get a job/cant travel to work. I remeber before I switched to lemmy and back when I used reddit, most people would promote their affiliate stuff or something, which really bothered me as it was quite common.
What legitimate ways are there to make money on the side from online without having a job? If you have questions, please leave a comment.
So i have a 3D printer, and i have linux on a laptop but im struggling to find good 3D print-related software to use on linux or maybe i havent looked hard enough? Im pretty much a beginner to both linux And 3d printing, also using Ubuntu Mate if that matters on a old thinkpad.
So i need a 3d print slicer/way to print to my printer, i also need a simple 3d modeling software (ive tried blender but found it too hard and heavy for me and my laptop). It would help if all suggested software were open source or something like that.
For some reason i want to stream games on a platform such as Twitch, but im pretty scared to start and what people may think of me, and what if my device isint good enough?
I'm not even sure if I should start with Twitch or not?
Anyone got any advice on getting over my silly fears or something?
Does this post belong here?
I made a new community for low-end computer gamers that are struggling or just want to chat about gaming. I'm new to lemmy so i hope I share the link the correct way. I made the community because I felt like it was needed and i was bored.
Im sorta new to lemmy and i feel like there more than im missing out on?
are there any other platforms and stuff that you will enjoy that you would like to spotlight for beginners like me?
It just seems like alot of work? but am i wrong by chance? whats it honestly like having a lemmy community?
