The inch measurements for men don't account for wider hips/bum so it takes a bit of trial and error to figure out what size to buy. Whenever I buy men's trousers I have to buy them 4 or 6 inches bigger than my own waist and then wear a belt to cinch the excess in. It's kind of a hassle and it's definitely not considered a put-together look by most women so the appeal is limited to the less fashion conscious of us.

‘I realised I’d been ChatGPT-ed into bed’: how ‘Chatfishing’ made finding love on dating apps even weirder

On Discord, a chat platform popular with gamers and tech communities, he came across channels dedicated to AI where other single men were exchanging tips about how to prompt ChatGPT to generate effective dating messages. “So, for instance, someone said that if you start a chat with a girl by asking her a list of questions – favourite film, dream holiday, that kind of thing – then paste her answers into ChatGPT, it would craft replies that would make you sound like her perfect match.” It proved effective. “It got me a lot more dates than I was getting before.”

If my spouse snuffs it before I do then I'm dying alone.

How does your internal monologue work?

My internal monologue is constant. Unless I'm using my language processing capacity for something else (e.g. listening to a podcast or reading text) then my brain is full of verbal diarrhoea. I'll count each step on my way up a staircase just to fill the dead air in my head.

When I worked in memory care I found that the easiest way was to play along. I had co-workers that did their training decades before I did and they were largely attached to "reorientation in time", which is a nice way of saying confronting their delusions, and it was just upsetting for everyone.

I don't want to tell Doris her husband isn't actually late coming back from the shops, or that her parents aren't coming to pick her up, or that she doesnt need to pick up her small children from school. Wouldn't you get upset if some random stranger insisted that your spouse, who you remember waking up next to that day, died ten years ago? Or if that random 50 year old stranger insisted that they were actually your small child that you definitely dropped off at school that morning?

Unfortunately humans aren't capable of experiencing objective reality. Instead everything gets filtered through our brains, which even in a totally healthy state still can't help but filter reality through a layer of subjectivity. Personally I'd pick being lied to every day over being told my life has already passed me by every day.

I had an assignment to write a short story when I was 11. Since I'd been reading too much Stephen King I decided to make it a horror story about a possessed doll in a family's attic. My teacher marked me down because it was "tense and disturbing", as if that wasn't what I was trying to achieve.

I may be getting drunk/high with a friend in the near future, what are some things to consider and watch out for?

Your first one or two drinks are to get you drunk. After those wait half an hour for your system to absorb all the alcohol, then take a moment and reassess. Is this comfortable? Do I feel sick? Can I get up and walk around? Am I aware of my surroundings?

If you feel good but noticeably drunk then slow way down, this is when you need to switch from getting drunk to staying drunk. Alternate alcoholic drinks with water to stay hydrated.

As someone who can't sit straight I only wore shorts and trousers until I learnt this trick in my twenties. While I personally don't find it lewd, other people clearly do and I get so pissed off every time someone feels the need to inform me that they've been looking up my skirt.
