Anon is forever alone

Someone who is hardworking and disciplined enough to keep the same shitty job for ten years could easily make a partner happy and get satisfaction from a relationship. Too many people look at what other people have and let it make them feel hopeless when they should be looking at what they have themselves and let it make them feel empowered.

Makes sense!

I like how everyone has all these hobbies and social activities like poker or fencing, except Barclay, who is a depressed and anxious workaholic except when he goes to the holodeck to jerk off. He was truly ahead of his time.

Always question those who are the "teachers"

That's something really ignorant people say. Teaching is about managing and forming personal relationships with large, diverse groups, way more than it's about the subject of the class. If you've ever had a class taught by an alternative certification monkey who won't shut up about their 15 years of industry experience, you know what I'm talking about.

How come NK doesn't just come out and say we are in trouble and need help? Like their lack of food and stuff? I really don't see a downside for a country admit they were wrong and need help

A handful of ultra-rich people would lose a little bit of power and their entire social structure would collapse. That country won't open back up without tremendous suffering, especially as long as the rich people in power stay rich and powerful by keeping things the way they are.

Similar to everywhere else.

After 10 years of every social media platform becoming just another political propaganda machine Im totally bored of it.

When they added all those default filters to bluesky for things like violence and hate speech and didn't add one for politics, I deleted my account. I'm so so so very tired of it. I'm also 100% sick of slacktivists thinking posting their politics on social media does anything other than make other people post their politics on social media.

I'm really waiting for this idea to catch on. I got online in the late 80s to get away from normies and their boring, repetitive normie mind-viruses. Back then it was just nerds talking to other nerds. Nowadays you can't even talk to your friends here. This whole thing is for people to get angry about politics and buy products. The sooner all these people leave, the sooner we can get back to what originally brought us here.

Hopefully soon, going on social media will be seen as a bad antisocial habit like smoking.

Why is socialization so hard in the 2020s?

This place was great when technology ran free. The internet is way way way more controlled than it was 25 years ago. Many folks don't see it that way because there are billions of people on here now and the control isn't being done by government censors, but in the end, there's nothing "running free" in today's modern internet. If you replace that quote with "My generation realizes that the promise of 'let billionaires with profit motives run free and everything will be fine' is not true" sounds like something a moron would say.
