Nice shots but if you're wanting gorgeous candid shots of fast moving action (like weddings/events), you're gonna struggle without the expensive glass/body.

I found a guy willing to chuck me RAWs for a lower price, still felt a bit ripped off. He shot 90% of the day on a walkabout zoom and the photos were nothing special.

Zooming with your feet (and switching primes) is part and parcel to events photography. If I see a zoom lens at a wedding I will judge the photographer.

Definitely a skill issue at play here.

As a Giger fan I would like to remind everyone that the guy bought a fucking castle and made it into an amazing musuem. It's also in Gruyere so if you happen to also like cheese you're gonna have the best day ever.

As a commercial photographer I have been waiting for pushback from consumers wanting to see actual photos of the actual product they're thinking about buying. But it seems nobody gives a shit and is happy with the slop. It's maddening. Some of the shit I've seen, technical garments with product shots that hallucinate non existent features, panels in the wrong place, its bonkers. It's not even subtle details.

I know quite a few fashion brands are quietly switching to AI. As in scrapping whole departments of people who deal with production. Waiting for the push back from consumers but something makes me think this is just going to be the new normal for a while. It's looking pretty grim for anyone working in the industry.

Pretty sure you can eat Fluorescein with no ill effects other than turning your piss dayglo. It's very widely used as a 'non-toxic' tracer dye so I'd imagine studies have been done.

Uni halls with international students who have zero real world skills, and are used to the staff/maid cooking for them. They started 3 fires and ruined so much food before giving up on using the kitchen altogether.

I was paid a dawn visit many years ago by an armed unit (UK). The way they ran it was two plainclothes (handguns only) officers knock on the door to assess the threat, with a van full of tooled up guys in balaclavas just outside, just in case. It was all very chill and no unnecessary stress/escalation for anyone. Seems like this would be a more sensible approach.
