Russian cinema full of fairytales and propaganda, says Ukrainian film-maker
It's hard to take Rodnyansky seriously on this topic, when he was the one behind multiple pieces of russian propaganda, even pre-2014, often showing Ukrainians as quirky simpletons and/or drunkards, or just less-than. And I agree that people's opinions can change, and it's good that he has come to his senses, but it's hypocritical of him to pass judgements on this topic.

US TV channel shows map of Ukraine without Crimea

Come on, no one is saying that. But they need to at least acknowledge the mistake and apologize for it. Again, what's not okay is treating it as a normal occurrence, it's just a gift for russian propaganda then, "see, even leftist Americans know that Crimea belongs to russia" etc.

I hope you realize that that's even worse. Normalizing the acceptance of annexation is not OK, and when even the progressive crowd does it - that's just sad.

Eh... He still was kind of an imperialist and wasn't about to let any ex-Russian Empire territory out of his control, although some of them tried to cede and go independent
