They don’t pay cops to think. In fact, I don’t think they even pay cops to recover stolen bikes.

Hieroglyph
Reply in thread
Rick roll refers to tricking someone into opening the YouTube video for Rick Ashley’s Never Gonna Give You Up. Knives are used to cut things, and in this case the father was arranging them to look like the loss comic. Without the context, the layout of the knives appears to just be a hieroglyph, which is a symbol used to convey information.
When you bring this all together, you get a dad having fun with his kids by ironically referencing memes he doesn’t understand. Kind of like how grandma used to call every video game console a Nintendo or every Pokémon a pikachu.

What’s your “I can’t believe other people don’t do this” hack?
Keeping an insulated water bottle around to drink from. How do people go to sleep knowing they either have to get up to take a drink or settle for some lukewarm side table water from a glass or plastic bottle??? Not to mention the waste I see with people using disposable water bottles (which have the time and place of course, but at home ain’t it.)

People will still buy these consoles and games. Nintendo won’t sell them. What’s the solution?

Casually Classic: WoW Classic’s leveling journey shows how much retail has lost its way
For me it wasn’t about the leveling or end game content. It was the engagement - you had to interact with other players, negatively or positively, to truly progress. Then they added dungeon finder and for all I know the other four players could be bots for all the engagement you get.

Apparently the ones being pirated in this ring. My point is people still want retro gaming consoles and games. If the IP holders aren’t selling them, what do they expect people to do?

Cops Used Facial Recognition on Lost iPhone Lock Screen to Find Post Office Robbers
Idk why I thought this was something to do with FaceID. They just used the dudes picture from his Lock Screen to identify him. Pretty dumb to bring your cell phone when committing such a crime, not to mention leaving your face on it and leaving it at the scene!! This reminds me of a story I read about a guy that got caught robbing a house because he logged into Facebook on the family computer and did not take it or log out.

I switched to Mint from windows 10 about three months ago (when I upgraded my video card). Everything is so much smoother and just works. Except Remote Desktop… can’t figure that one out.

The way they showed the reasoning of the AI using a scratchpad makes it very hard not to believe these large language models are not intelligent. This study seems to imply some self awareness/self preservation behaviors from the AI.
