Brave will not add Web Integration support

Woah when were they caught selling user data, that would be a huge blow to them as a privacy focused browser that I've somehow never heard of.

What's a philosophical (not overtly political) position that you hold?

It wouldn't have to be communism. We could do it in the US today without changing capital ownership. The government would just have a lot less money to spend on anything else (how much this would be is up for debate).

How about y'all go build houses and toilets for some uncontacted tribe and force them to change their lifestyles?
Kinda off topic but I was so surprised when I visited Colombia and found poor communities living in shacks on the beach. Their properties are worth 10s of millions of US dollars and they refuse to sell because they don't want to give up the lifestyle and community that they have. Really puts into perspective how wrong we can be when we think we are helping people.

Yeah really, keying the car is a huge overreaction. If you want to fuck with them just surround their car with shopping carts.

can we please keep this community about technology and not Twitter/X and elon news?
Reply in thread
No, they are arguing that everything is technically technology. So we should turn this community into a basket weaving forum.

'Suits' Was Streamed For 3 Billion Minutes on Netflix and the Writers Were Collectively Paid $3,000
Reply in thread
You said they got 3 billion as if they got 3 billion dollars. In reality Netflix paid for the rights to distribute a show and paid for the infrasture to stream 3 billion minutes of it in hopes that people keep renewing their subscription. It definitely made them a lot of money, but not 3 billion.

So the interesting part in my mind for this is that you would die and be gone, there would just exist another entity that can perfectly replicate you. Take for example the case of there being two of you, which one is the real one? The original? What if I kill the original? Does the new one become the real you? But what if I don't kill you but let the duplicate replace your life. Are you the real you trapped in some cell, or is the duplicate the real you living your life?
My point really is that it's all a matter of perspective. For everyone else the clone would be the real you, but from your perspective you are the real you and the clone stole your life.

Lemmy.ml/c/ps5 is moving to Lemmy.world/c/ps5
Reply in thread
So your suggestion is to centralize all gaming communities onto a single lemmy instance? That sounds like a great alternative. Besides, the real decentralization would be having a ps5 community on lemmy.ml, lemmy.world, and lemdro.id. That way if any one instance is shut down there are still two more that users can migrate to.

Anon is disillusioned about Starfield

They literally live off hype then going quiet long enough for people to forget the disappointment. The older people remember and don't expect much, the middle aged people remember but are hopeful they'll be better (and that the older people are just jaded), and the younger people just fall for the hype.
This is it, this is all Bethesda is now. Constantly recycling suckers through long dev cycles and hype.

What's wrong with you? Why are you making excuses to not hold rapists accountable? Why are you not supporting the democratically elected leaders decision that also has a majority of the country's support? Stop trying to exert your will and what you believe is right on others that don't agree with you.

A list of Free Software network services and web applications which can be hosted on your own servers
Reply in thread
Lol I'm so surprised some self hosters are so lazy they can't even make a selection out of a few already curated items. Like would you rather have no options at all (use this ONE project, nothing else matters) or not even have the list and have to find the projects on your own?

I mean technically they are copied infinitely due to proc gen. I just don't get why they didn't proc gen the POIs as well, would have at least made them more varied.
