I literally said "it has to be more than a 10% price difference". And if you're bad at math, that's more than $100.
And that extra $100 gets you warranty from Valve, a sleek compact form factor, and a ready-to-go system.
The price from GN is less than a $100 difference. And their point was basically to show that you can't get much cheaper than Valve's price, and that it is actually competitive.

This is overpriced for the hardware.
I challenge you to build out a parts list with comparable performance for cheaper. And it needs to be more than a 10% difference. You can't just show a savings of $50 and claim victory, because there's a lot you get in convenience and guarantees when you buy hardware from Valve.

i suck at picking parts and never know if they'll fit my build
Just use pcpartpicker.com
It's very good at telling you if parts aren't compatible.

8gb works fine for most games at 1080p.
Nobody buying this is doing it to play competitive FPS games on a 4k 144hz monitor.
I'm running a 12gb card and I haven't found a game yet that completely saturates the GPU's memory. But then I don't play most games with maxed out settings. And I have a system with 16 cores on the Zen5 arch and 96gb of RAM.
All you're doing here is being an elitist and ignorant chud.

Yes, you absolutely would pay more for less. I saw on the comment thread you linked to a 4th gen Intel as an example. What a joke.

They already have all that with the trillions and trillions of photos people willingly backed up with Google photos.

Detailed Error Messages
What the user was doing is that they don't trust that the system truly deleted the account, and they worry it was just deactivated (while claiming it was "deleted"). So they tried to do a password recovery which often reactivates a falsely "deleted" account.
I've done this before and had to message the company and have them confirm the account is entirely deleted.

Systemd preparing to comply with age verification laws
I was ambivalent about systemd up until now. If this gets merged I'm moving to a non-systemd distro. I do not live in California or even the USA. I do not want age verification garbage in my OS.

What I do is just take out the card a plug it into a little USB dongle thing which I can plug into either my phone or laptop.
What's wild to me is that anyone would do it any other way. I'm astounded that this is somehow a "tip".
Not even 10 years ago it was simply the way to do it.
