Finding the best stick
It's a nice stick, but I can't get behind it unless I hear a nice whoosh sound when you swing it.

Also, "backdoor into iMessage", wtf?

In a world where people would spin up new websites just to piss off a billionaire, I have faith in humanity to build taller ladders for any walls the greedy corporations build.

The meme is making it look like seat down is presumptuous, which it is not. It has the least effort vs hygiene trade-off, since sitting to pee is much more hygienic.

I really do think this will happen in the near future. Right now, every company is targeting the high end segment and slowly making it's way down.

It's location based. It gives you an option to turn off if you are not in you home location. Unless you explicitly disable that clause.

Sounds like a made up problem!
Even in your example, absolutely no one forced anyone to use it as a "social media" app. If it is a matter of convenience to access the notices, or talk to teacher, then use it like how you would use school/work apps such as canvas/blackboard/slack/teams apps. Stop using it beyond it's purpose. Which is to say, add "friends" if you have to so that you can access notices or messages from your teacher or whatever. But doom scrolling on clickbait and keeping tabs on Exes shouldn't be done.

Yup! There are levels of fucked up. At the basic level, if it's accidentally set to override location check, there are easy solutions like force closing the app, uninstalling the app, turning off the phone.
Mind you, the app knows you force closed it. So it will let you know next time if you want to go to next level of strictness.
At the highest level of fuck up, you can provide admin access so that switching apps and physical buttons are all disabled. So you best bet would be to let the battery drain out and somehow muffle the speakers.
There is also another "fun" captcha. You pledge a small amount of money. If you don't wake up, the money gets donated to fund sleep-related research.
