Utah has lost more than you think, they just have the whole system rigged to their advantage and a good chunk of the populace willing to do anything for them. I wish they all realized how much these Christians in this movement hate them though. If they actually were to succeed in bringing themselves of any other targets they would go after Mormons instantly

Just a fine mince and some tofu crumbled. And you cook it up in a frying pan with taco seasoning just like you would taco meat. At least that's the way I do it 😁 you convince onions in there too or peppers, if you mince anything small enough and put taco seasoning on it it looks like taco meat

The thing about coming up with a new invention that's useful is, you don't have to keep convincing everyone that it's useful. There are things that it's good for and they are already being used for that. What we are seeing now is an attempt to force it into every nook and cranny to justify the massive wealth bubble that they have created out of it to prop up the economy so they don't lose money. Eventually they will have all their money in the right place and they will let the economy crash and let the common man take 100% of the blow.

Does Lemmy feel hostile and/or insular to you?

I just want to have a serious conversation about stuff that matters and you just can't do that in real life without somebody shitting their pants. I fucking love it here. I don't need a million comments saying some dumb inside joke bullshit like on Reddit. This place seems just a lot more real. I get my comedy from the memes and I can actually talk to people about real issues and be challenged, it's nice.

Why are fruits and berries healthy, even though they are mostly just sugar?

RN here, it's because your body has a more difficult time accessing the sugars in fruit form. They are wrapped up in multiple types of fiber which add bulk to your digestive system and serve as kind of a shield for your body to less easily access the sugar. The juice is essentially just the sugar with all the fiber strained out, has others have said this causes a situation where you can drink the calories from like 18 oranges in 45 seconds, and your body can access it immediately and easily. This is also why whole fruit is actually a good thing for diabetics because the glycemic index is actually pretty low.
