USB-C hubs and my slow descent into madness - Dennis Schubert

Just imagine how easy things would have been if these 3000$+ computers had the necessary ports built into them.

3 usb type-c and two type-A ports, hdmi out, sd card reader should be bare minimum. A 3.5mm headset jack and collapsible rj45 or very least rj45 to usb adapter should also be included on machines intended for professional use.

Edit: for those complaining about having to disconnect multiple cables, sure you can buy a hub or dock if you want ease of use. But that would still be possible on a machine with its own ports. You don't have to have a working dock to actually use the machine.

Samsung sees 95% drop in profits for a second consecutive quarter

As a Samsung user of 6 years, mainly due to job phone policy, I say they deserve it.

Great screens, but gawddamn they aren't worth their price. No charger, no headphone jack, no expandable storage, fingerprint sensor that are iffy and damn OS taking up 30% of your storage, no matter which option you go for.

I like the camera and s-pen on my S22u but that's it. They need to lower price and make competent mid range phones again, like the A52s.

A new trend in tipping emerges

Reply in thread

Tipping had devolved from customers saying "I'll give something extra for extra service" to restaurants saying "since you pay for the food, why don't you pay for the staff too?"

Only real way to get rid of this culture is to ban it to start. Workers need to demand living wages at the same time as ban comes into effect.

The bare necessities

Meme aside, there is no justification for doing that. Even if I saved up my own money, I wouldn't get an extravagant hobby when others at home are starving. It's just asking for trouble.

A $1999 pc, sure. But not $2000! That's just too much.

Problem with this guide is, you have to pronounce the English words as a Japanese native, for it to work. Which kind of eliminates the point of this guide.

Lock? No, that's not 6. But a Japanese would pronounce lock as "rocku", which is correct.

Same with "Kole", pronouncing it similar to coal will not work. But if you say it like a Japanese native, ko-ray, then it works.
