Do you approve sex work? Why or why not?
Reply in thread
selling your body
i hate that phrasing to describe sex work. no one is "selling their body", as they are still in control of it. sex workers provide a service, same as a masseuse or hair stylist (except their service involves genitals) and it should be treated as such.
Otherwise one could argue that all (physical) labour is "selling your body"

German parliament to debate ban on far-right AfD next week

We allowed nazis take power once, we must not make the same mistake again.
In case you missed it, they are in power already, just not in Germany (yet).

A petition I don't think will do much.
This isn't just any regular change.org petition, that can be ignored. It's an official partition based on EU rules, where EU parliament is forced by law to listen to the initiators and talk about the topic, when it passes.

Trump doubles down on annexation threat, says Canada would be ‘cherished state’

Not that weird, since we've had similar things happen in Europe in the 1930s. I'm mostly wondering, what's going to be Canada's Stalingrad.

Private rent in Britain now swallows 44% of the average wage
Reply in thread
I agree, but to afford the stuff we also need to increase wages to a level where they match the increased cost of living. Otherwise, the only people able to afford the assets, that the rich will be forced to sell are slightly less rich fucks, because regular folks still have to spend all their income on food and stuff like that.

AfD is the most popular party in Germany for the first time, with a record 26%
Reply in thread
We don't know how good AFD would be at doing, what they claim. But none of the parties who have been in power over the last 20-30 years have done anything significant to improve the average workers economic status (e.g. make housing affordable, guarantee a reasonable pension, lessen the fear of unemployment, etc.). AFD claims, "if we get rid of the immigrants, everything will be better again" and people are believing it.

Remedy's new CEO is a former sports betting guy and EA executive who aims to 'scale Remedy in a way that builds lasting value'

IMO Alan Wake 2 could have performed much better if it wasn't an Epic exclusive, but from what I heard, because of that deal, Remedy got their development cost back before the game officially broke even.
Don't know what to think of Firebreak, because it's a genre i don't like (coop) and that doesn't go well with Remedys biggest strength, the storytelling. Until recently i didn't even know the game existed.
