Google laid her off on maternity leave. Now she's suing.
My company laid off 2 people whilst on maternity leave and being a mostly remote company, my coworkers were in different states.
The one in California sued and got a decent amount from the lawsuit. However the one in Texas didn’t see as bright of an ending.
Maternity leave needs to be protected federally, as right now I think only a handful of states have laws protecting employees on maternity leave.

After luring customers with low prices, Amazon stuffs Fire TVs with ads
Everything has ads now, I don’t have a fire TV but surprised Amazon is this late to this bs game. The Xbox has ads now like with mw3 when you launch the console. My Visio Tv I spent ~1000 on a few years ago is stuffed with ads when you turn it on.

Canada to cut off electricity to US states: "Need to feel the pain"
On the slim bright side maybe just maybe this might make the US think of renewable energy, it’s why China invests so much into it to prevent relying on countries for oil.
Ehh who am I kidding, that’s not going to happen at all.

Elon Musk’s $56bn Tesla pay package is too much, judge rules
I just read 1 article and didn’t dig too much deeper
Over the last 4 years Tesla has laid off about 13,000 workers. If each had a $100K salary the cost to pay them all would be $1.3B.
So his one pay package could’ve paid all of those 13,000 people for years.

I don’t think the actor does, but the director and/or production has to. If it’s not similar to the source material just call it something else, but I do get saying “based on XYZ” makes for easier marketing.

Muskrat wants more HB1 visas. Conservative Twitter accounts said no. Muskrat retaliates.
I have a feeling a lot of these people think Musk was born and raised in the US

Due to declining attendance, the Van Gogh Museum launched a limited-edition merch collab with Pokemon, hoping Pokemania would reignite public interest. The usual hypebeast scalpers promptly descen...
What do they mean declining attendance? I was there a few weeks ago and you had to book a day or two ahead cause it was sold out when I was going just trying to walk in.

Excuse me miss did you want the unlimited viewing plan or just the 5 minute package? If you plan longer than 5 minutes I recommend you to go with unlimited, cause it’ll cost you more later.
