Huh, wonder what he said.

I’m never gonna read it so it’s a mystery.

I’m not reading all that. But some time ago, Maher went to the White House, where he had dinner with Trump. Then he went on someone else’s show (maybe Colbert?) to say how nice Trump was in person, and how he was different than at his speeches, because that was all just an act and a character he plays. Now many of Maher fans are left leaning, or consider themselves to be left leaning. I have pointed out to them on many occasions how I’ve given up on Maher decades ago because of his shit takes on pretty much everything. Sometimes he’ll even have a good opinion, but the way he goes about presenting it is garbage. Anyway I can’t see how a lot of his fans could still be liking him after such praise of Trump after that dinner. And if Trump has now turned on him after that, then that’s even funnier leopards. So fuck them both.

I'm not reading all that, but from the first few words I did read i'm guessing it's just more of his endless, pissy whining. For someone that thinks of himself as a tough guy mobster type, he sure is a massive crybaby.

I can't tell if that's real or not. On one hand it's obviously a hilarious parody. On the other hand several news outlets are reporting on it.

All that stands out is "COMPLETE AND TOTAL LOSER". Since I already know Trump is, there's no need to keep reading.

I spot an em dash. Can't even use his own words to go on an unhinged rant about someone he doesn't like

The em dash is weird but an LLM would have produced a coherent and clean text, not something like "I never watch his show" followed by three paragraphs of how he watches his show (quick read, I didn't actually read the rant), with digressions, random capitalized nouns and typos like DESPARATELY

I'm guessing iPhone autocorrect? Maybe if you type two dashes consecutively it writes the em dash?

It really wouldn't be hard to tell an LLM to write like he xeets. You have half of the prompt done already in your comment. I'm betting it's slop.

A slow and miserable death would be acceptable too.

Wait until the midterms are done. Trump croaking before election day might give the GOP an undeserved boost.

It would also mean that Vance is restricted to being elected to one term after this one. If Vance takes office before January 20 at noon, it counts as a term for him because it will be just over 2 years.

So weird how the dudes making the most money faster than anyone in history are always the most miserable pieces of shit

26

Imagine going at Bill Maher and focusing on a lack of success 🤦🏻

The dude is an insufferable prick with political stances from the 80s and always going for the smugness world record, yet he's had his own show at a ridiculously high wage for decades and is a hectomillionaire.

I guess Trump can't attack Maher for that, though, since he shares most of those qualities.

And no, I didn't read on after the first mention of Maher. I very rarely do.

Never seen the hecto- prefix used in the wild before. Definitely going to start using that too, I've always hated the nonspecificity in multi-millionaire.

Yeah, me too! A net worth of $3 million technically makes you a multi-millionaire, but I'm pretty sure that's upper middle class money by now.

Conversely, $100+ millions is much more than any reasonable person can possibly spend in a lifetime. It's only a tenth of a billion, but it's effectively the same category of wealth: dragon's hoard that is harmful to both society and the person with it.

We can't bust heads like we used to. But we have our ways. One trick is to tell stories that don't go anywhere. Like the time I caught the ferry to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for m'shoe. So I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now, to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on 'em. "Gimme five bees for a quarter," you'd say. Now where were we... oh yeah. The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. I didn't have any white onions, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

I was getting a seizure trying to read this so I had to stop after the first paragraph. I am pretty sure I missed out nothing

TIL the White House is a seductive place.

Being able to listen to the unfiltered raw blasts of madness directly from the dome of Azathoth is something I grow tired of
