People only hate ai because they have access to it. If it were too expensive for the *common folk* it would be seen as luxurious or elite.

I think people hate AI because:
I could go on and on.
You forgot the environment and the energy prices.
And hastening Dead Internet.
Though that one was already in the works. But Ai is certainly fast tracking it.
These are implementation critiques
Your entire argument is nothing but an implementation critique.
Exactly
Data centers needed for AI are driving up electricity costs to surrounding residents, they use ungodly amounts of water to cool the systems and dump that now hot water back into the ecosystem, causing ecosystem collapse or into the municipal wastewater process, overloading treatment plants, children are using it to do their homework, potentially harming their ability to critically read and write (this is still being studied, and most evidence is anecdotal or still in review).

Wowo interesting, describe to me how a closed loop cooling tower works.
This is what people know as "AI" right now (because it's being shoved down their throats that way)
Yes, but the sad thing is if it weren't implemented as a resource for all it wouldn't carry the same anti weight.
You're absolutely correct. This comment contains multiple examples of implementation critiques, which weren't easy to spot. I'm reformulating my response in light of this new information.
Fuck, there goes my usage.
Additionally, many complaints center on environmental concerns that are also implementation issues. Relatively few people are content creators.
I can't afford a cybertruck; I still don't want one and think they are stupid as fuck. AI would be the same.
I also need to ask: Are you hurt? This is the kind of showerthought one would have after slipping and hitting their head in there.
Naoh
No, I think I'd actually hate it a lot more like that
People don't hate food, air, and water because they have access to it.
This argument is beyond stupid and classist af.
It is almost like it was conceived in the shower
You eating prime rib tonight?
What high dollar scotch you cracking into?
I'm having cereal for dinner, and I too hate AI
Sounds weird. Hope you feel better.
You sure? I think it has something to do with the mind-boggling amount of ecological and economic damage it has done to our world.
You need a plumber, your shower is broken
No plumbers available. AI is now responsible for fixing the shower.
I don't have access to it, still hate it.
Need a link?
Sure, it's always good to check if my blocklist is up-to-date and working.
You should add me to that
People hate private jets too.
And we know how principled the average person is
Wilful ignorance is the worst ignorance.
Seriously, you should work on that
I think the only salty person is you
What's so salty about me?
You can remove the "ish" from your username
Electrolytes are good for you but you mighr be over doing it.
Spell much?
Sorry, ill run it through an llm
Loss leaders are a thing. The problem is the ai companies don't have the high margin alternative products to offset the losses.
Sounds like a problem for ai companies to solve unless your concern is their success or larger economical impacts. Not a real critique of the technology itself.
We most certainly do. Pharma work pays big, for example.
Do pharma need LLM chuds though?
We have access to it, so we can see that it's shit. Yes.
If we didn't have access to it, and didn't know anything about it, then we couldn't have a fair opinion on its quality. And, yes, by definition it would be seen as luxurious.
I'm not sure what your point is.
I dont see how its shit. Maybe its shit if youre using it to do slop creative works. From an it perspective its game changing.
I respectfully disagree but I upvoted because it is a quality shower thought
