It's not Harry Potter? Damn. Hmmm... is it the book people theorize JKR was inspired by? There was such a thing, was there? Or am i just making shit up?
Iirc, there were several books that she likely took inspiration from, ranging from things like a secret platform at kings cross, I don't remember the name of that one, a wizard of earthsea is possibly an inspiration for her whole wizard boarding school schtick, though to be honest, I'd be genuinely surprised if JK read a lot of Le Guin and came away with her politics.

A young boy gets abducted by a cult, to train him as a soldier. As an adult he tries to visit his mother, but she's already killed, so he massacres the aliens who did this. He falls in love with a royalty, only for the cult to forbid this relationship. A fascist traitor of the cult cuts off one of his hands, gets a mechanical one and marries the royalty woman.
Few years later, the man kills the fascist traitor. He gets a vision that tells him his wife will die of childbirth and the cult denies him a leadership position, so he joins the fascist leader behind the fascist traitor to try to save her, only to kill her instead (though the twins survive), after which his master in the cult amputates all his limbs and leaves him burning in hot magma. He gets saved by the fascists, builds out a massive fascist empire in the galaxy.
