RFK Jr.'s staff shuts down questions as he admits he eats 'stuff I find on the street'

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s staff cut off a USA Today interview question about the grossest food he has ever eaten, moments after he admitted eating "stuff I find on the street."

"…I will literally eat anything… I don't have a gag reflex," Robert F. Kennedy Jr. told Chambers. "When I travel, I'll eat, you know, even stuff I find on the street, you know, street vendors, cooking."

"Like, is there stuff that you've eaten that people are like, wow. You ate that," Chambers asked.

"You mean, like, something gross? Or?" Robert F. Kennedy Jr. replied.

"Yes. Maybe gross for others. Yeah. Not for you," Chambers said.

"I'm getting a signal not to answer that question," Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said, shutting down the line of questioning.

Americans would really rather let this lumpy headed moron destroy their (already pathetic) healthcare system than revolt, huh?

1

Dude definitely has eaten a turd. The question is human or animal or both ?

Settle down everyone. He's talking about eating food from street vendors.

32

He's been known to collect roadkill. He'll literally eat things off the street.

You would have better chances with roadkill over anything from a vendor with lettuce.

7

Lol what the fuck? Food trucks are "food off the street"? These chucklefucks are so goddamn disconnected.

That's usually GOOD FOOD. Sorry they don't serve caviar or raccoon penis you ritzy, worm-fucked assbasket.

40

This is just wishful interpretation of something worded poorly. The title is pure clickbait.

13

That’s usually GOOD FOOD

I'd rather eat the weeds on concrete than Taylor farms lettuce.

Rfk Jr is insane but the title is waaaay out of context.

"you know, street vendors, cooking."

He'll eat from a food truck!

He was stopped by his staff before answering whether he'd eaten food found in trash cans. Kennedy has snorted cocaine from toilet seats so trash cans are a step up.

Genuinely one of the smartest people I have ever met, a former professor with multiple doctorates, got his lunch every day by digging in the trash outside his building and piecing together a meal from half eaten leftovers. He'd microwave it to sterilize.

He also once gave me a fairly nice designer shirt (not the logo kind, actually nice), which he picked up at the bus stop covered in vomit, took home, and cleaned.

At one point, he walked into the lab with a clearly used bowl reeking of marijuana, said he found it in a trash can, and had us analyze the THC content and alkaloid ratios as an exercise, because he had a DEA license.

Lived into his 90s, was a self-made multi-millionaire, and spent his money on funding his research. Also he was fanatical about proper reduce, reuse, recycle. And he would get very pissed if you skipped those first two and went straight to recycle.

That's cool. Was he the Secretary of Health for the USA too?

3

No, but he's qualified, according to MAGA standards. Just one more question: Who won the 2020 election?

Nope.

But for all of RFK jr.'s many faults, I don't consider eating roadkill or stuff out of the garbage to be counted among them. Matter of fact, I consider both to be examples of not wasting food, which is good.

Fresh roadkill? Alright probably safe, but the man has had brain worms so he probably isn't taking care in what eats.

4

Eh, even bad meat that is cooked properly (burned to leather, basically) is edible...it just tastes like death.

he also likes to play with dead racoon penis as well. anything is possible with this guy.

35

I read that the dead raccoon penis was about a special bone that they have, which is sought after in some circles, especially Moonshiners. It's used to somehow regulate the flow of the moonshine, and they prize their particular bone.

Apparently, that's what he was after. Once it's explained, it still doesn't make any sense at all.

He's just a weirdo among weirdos. THAT makes sense.

Maybe, but most people don’t have a gag reflex when eating food from street vendors.

He’s saying people would normally gag on the stuff he’s eaten.

I've had stinky tofu from a street vendor, which is both a fairly normal food and absolutely something that might cause a person to gag.

(As for the grossest thing I've eaten: one time, I found that beetles had infested my stash of buckwheat, so rather than letting them have it, I cooked it and skimmed them off when they floated to the top. I wouldn't do that again because I'm a vegetarian now...)

11
lemmy.zip

I have had Taiwanese coworkers, and I have tasted stinky tofu. As they pointed out, Westerners eat stinky cheese, so why be snooty? But I have to say my first experience of it was distressing.

Natto, on the other hand, I managed to get used to fairly quickly.

2

I tried to eat natto but I couldn't go through with it. The taste was fine, but the appearance was just too much for me. It was like eating a bowl of mucus.

Ok sure stinky tofu, durian. I don’t think rfk is talking about that.

3

Durian tastes far better than it smells. It smells like a dirty diaper.

Where from? If it's not Hunan (specifically Changsha) stinky tofu, it's not worth my time.

3
sh.itjust.works

Sorry to disappoint you, but I was in Taiwan. It did smell so bad while the vendor was still out of sight that I thought my friend was pranking me by leading me to an open sewer or something.

2
Oni_eyesreply
sh.itjust.works

Oh yeah, it still smells terrible but for some reason the Changsha variety (it's kind of fried and black) is delicious. They add some broth and chopped garlic and chili peppers on top.

3

The one I had was actually pretty tasty, but it tasted like ordinary (but well made) fried tofu. I suppose I should be grateful that it didn't taste the way it smelled, but I admit I was a little disappointed.

As a 30 year veteran of food trucks, that is not a man you should be taking health advice from!

Remember how Ukrainians always say "We are so lucky they are stupid"

We should say same thing about this admin, and just keep getting people doing together consistently.

The country will get better and reclaimed from this lunacy with more people doing.

13

I don't see what's stupid about eating food from street vendors.

Unless you just completely took the click-bait headline at face value and thought he was talking about literally eating food off the street. And if that's the case, maybe you should look in a mirror before calling anyone stupid.

3

the sound of an old lawnmower pushing through a pile of spaghetti-rfk jr voice

"Oh I do eat food of the street. In that we all live on the street of life. We are the life: bacteria, parasites, worms, skinbugs,... we are the road of life itself. It travels through us. We are the street itself.

Anyway I have no direct preference if it only got hit by the bumper or if it has been run over by a tire. Both are good."

6

Imagine telling someone in 1960 that the ultimate destiny of the Kennedy dynasty would be "eating stuff they find in the street".

This man is insane:

In an interview with Rosanne Barr, he seemingly without emotion said,

“So I pulled over and I picked up the bear and put him in the back of my van, because I was gonna skin the bear,”

“It was in very good condition and I was gonna put the meat in my refrigerator.”

“I had to go to the airport, and the bear was in my car, and I didn’t want to leave the bear in the car because that would have been bad,”

“the little bit of the redneck in me” thought I have a bear carcus and a bike I need to get rid of, why not put both “in the bike lanes.”

“I wasn’t drinking, of course, but people were drinking with me who thought this was a good idea,”

“So we went and did that and we thought it would be amusing for whoever found it, or something.”

29
lemmy.world

“I wasn’t drinking, of course, but people were drinking with me who thought this was a good idea,”

Riiiiight. The excuse of college kids caught in an embarrassing scenario, that's totally legit reasoning.

6

He was actually older than college age. Like way older. He was like 60. If he was college age, yeah that's pretty funny but it's also a problem and don't do it again, but 60?

2

"I wasn't drinking, I, uh, I was, um...the Designated Driver! Yeah, that's it! I was the Designated Driver. Not a drop to drink. Not. One. Drop. Yep, that's it. Designated Driver. That was me."

1

He wasn't drinking.

He was high as fuck on cocaine, but he hadn't been drinking.

5
lemmy.world

Bear are disgusting. People get sick from eating bear. A bear needs to eat him.

9

Marketed drama to keep us distracted.

Remember these guys are pawns. The real enemies use them specifically to distract you.

By participating in their marketed division theater you are an enemy too.

Understanding this is how we awaken and get humanity back on a natural path.

6

Is this a satire site? All their stories are about Donald trump and his entourage. All of them. Very outlandish headlines

Dumb white people especially men in America constantly fall upwards. This rapist like his boss are prime examples.

Rich, dumb, white people fall upwards.

Poor, dumb, white people fall the same direction as everyone else.
