I did! I assume it's because I have had 4 accounts on different servers with the same name.

I reckon, with that username, OP will also be on some federal lists

Ah yep, so you are. Congratulations!

It sounds like the guy has rage quit the platform over this, by the way.

I saw that, and when I followed the link to his farewell message, it opened a bunch of tabs and crashed firefox. Looks like he tried to put in a DDoS script in there. Just... wow. What a ride!

I'm on the fucking list and don't even know these fuckers lol. Guess can join the made the list crowd.

I'm so confused, I'm on the list but I don't even post anything controversial, popular, or interesting.

Why would they care about me?

3

hey, I'm not n the list that I can see, we can swap user names if you want your Teseract virginity back ?

2

I imagine he just banned them all as he came across them. But yeah, definitely pretty unhinged behaviour.

2

😂 I don't even have an account with numbers on the end but they banned that pattern on all hosts 🤣

4

Honestly wondering whether the dev just didn't understand the concept of shitposts, because it appears that 99% of the blacklisted users are from here.

7

Honestly quite possible, there's a lot of users here who just don't understand the concept of satire.

It's an alternative frontend for Lemmy, so kinda like an app, but for desktop. I think.

There was a secret block list built into the software that wasn't disclosed to the users, the screenshot above is from that list.

It's a badge of pride for many, others are just confused as to why they're on it.

okay seriously, I gonna put all of those that yap about the ban list on my own ban list for being obnoxious little shits.

I get it but let them have their fun?

It’s a small platform and it’s a thing that’s brought a bunch of them together. It’s cute and harmless.

You were being reactionary, specifically about people memeing on somebody who secretly suppressed my entire main instance. I get posts feeling repetitive, but come on; what happened was fucked up. Blocking those people feels like you're seeking the sanitized fediverse the Tesseract dev was seeking.

Yes you are right, what Patrick pulled off was absolutely fucked off, and I am deeply disappointed by them. But those meme posts feel like the posters were seeking validation by them for being put on the list, which I think is obnoxious.

And please, I am not a liberal.

To be fair. At least Macniel is only doing it for themselves, and being upfront about it. Which is the exact opposite of the Tesseract dev's MO. If they want to block people for this, I say the more power to them. That's what the function is for, and they aren't forcing their choices on anyone else by doing so.

With that said, they can block me too. Because I ended up on the regex list and am damn proud of it :p. And on a related note, I hope I live long enough to see Elon Musk lynched.

Seriously. If everyone who is on the list made a post about it there'd be thousands of posts. We don't all need to do that. And yes, I'm on the list, but you don't see me making a post to brag about it. Instead I've made a couple of comments in these posts, so I guess I'm part of the problem. Which may be why I'm on the list...

I don't make a whole post about it, I just brag about it in each thread of the posts other people make about it.

Whats the difference between being in the users lidt and the userregexes list?

2

My guess is that the regex is needed because you change your username regularly according to some defiined pattern.

yeah it's starting to get obsessive now. I'm sick of seeing posts about it. it's boring as fuck.

On Lemmy, topics you expect to be discussed for a couple of days are trending for several days minimum. I'm not sure why that is, but it seems pretty consistent.
