Yeah idk my GP has been telling me to get more exercise for years. Must be a communist.

Argument to be made that since all those generally require more time and money than a minimum wage slave would have its the late stage capitalism that is suppressing them.

To be fair natural milk microbes have been associated with a lot of very positive health effects. It's just that contamination is common and makes you pretty bloody sick 1 in 100-1000 bottles of milk

Weren’t like half of all food borne illnesses caused by milk before pasteurization?

20

About ~25% of food borne illness was due to pathogenic bacteria making its way into milk/dairy products pre-pasturisation

I want to see his MRI to find out how little brain matter is required to pretend to be a human being.

RFK Jr is definitely more worn food than brain but I've always assumed these things are just stock market manipulation more that true believers.

Half that shit is crap or marketing nonsense with no real basis in reality, like fucking nutraceuticals.

Literally the first time I ever saw that word. WTF is a neutraceutical?

19

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nutraceutical

Nutraceutical is a marketing term used to imply a pharmaceutical effect from plant extracts, compounds, or food products that are claimed to influence health outcomes, typically as dietary supplements.[1]

In the United States, nutraceuticals are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as foods, dietary supplements or food ingredients, depending on the ingredients included and marketing claims.[2][3] Regulatory treatment varies by jurisdiction, and the term has no uniform legal definition internationally.[4][5]

That one stood out to me, too. Where does he think stem cells come from, anyway?

I hope it was worth an entire decade of research that could've happened but didn't, directly because of them.

Good bye, America.

You are here:

ROCK America HARD PLACE

The rock is your overpriced, underperforming health "service", and the hard place is your governments attempts to kill you with quack "science".

The US isn't the only country with problems. Last I checked you guys have an AfD problem following close behind. The Deutsche Bahn problems are just another indication of the same neoliberal dysfunction that caused a loss of faith in government here in the US that might hit your country next if you don't start paying attention.

I'm not saying you can't criticize the US, but if you're not looking in your own backyard and learning lessons from our mistakes you're no better than us.

3

I'm looking into my own backyard, and i see the problems, but they are neglectable in comparison to the catastrophe that the US is.

Okay, looking past the obvious stupidity for a moment, why is he encouraging FDA employees to "Preserve your records"? Doesn't that go against, like, his entire post? Nay, his entire strategy (if it can even be called that)?

8
lemmy.world

But if they were, then they'd be even stupider to preserve them. It's like he's trying to bluff his way into winning a game of poker but then flipping the cards to reveal he's got the worst possible hand before anyone else can even make a bet (idk, not my best analogy but I'm sticking with it)

2

Aside from it being nonsense …. Destroying evidence is also against the law. Sometime the investigation starts with legally you must preserve all records

2

To be clear, the current FDA guidelines on Nutraceuticals is that they have to be treated as food. This is loose because of people like Orin Hatch, who rigged the system for his daughter's supplement company, which was also found to contain no amounts of some of the ingredients that were listed on the bottle. To make regulation looser would only be possible by not requiring supplements to be edible or by not requiring a list of ingredients (including allergens).
