How much is comment rich? 60? 70?

I've had those on here; let's call it 100.

A Djin suddenly appears on your phone screen.

"Wish? Important!? Say!?!?"

Every time I see 3+ new inbox notifications I know I said something controversial. 😅

oh yeah. Some days, I pass out in a stupor & have to keep myself from checking notifications for as long as curiosity can stay away from the cat.

It's nice when you eventually check..and it turns out to be constructive feedback or support. Even with downvotes. There's an art to this.

I have learned to avoid posting to the dark souls communities when I'm in a mood.

What's fun is waking up with a comment already to post on something you swear you clicked on in your sleep. My latest:

Work with [redacted] to develop a [redacted] over the6u o{p{by yet cy<furgoneta he utter 6

I think furgoneta might mean summer in sleepytimespeak

Unless you said something VERY "controversial", and then you see nothing at all... ever again.

I think that Russia invaded Ukraine, not the other way around...

A light .ml criticism or light support for a progressive dem can blow up your inbox

How dare you not think that bOtH sIdEs SaMe!? Why, I will have you know that Donald J Trump is likewise a black Indian woman, as explained in these theory books that I now demand that you read before you can show your face in this community again...

How many times do 11 people tell you they liked something you did IRL? 12 upvotes is still a lot.

I'm so glad to not be on other social media anymore. Posting on Facebook and having no engagement from the people you actually know and care about hurt a lot more than having a comment on Lemmy get ignored.

I have a dear friend who got pranked by someone. They set his Facebook posting options to post only at me and he didn't notice for a couple years. He just wondered why no one else commented on his posts.

We've both got slightly oversized egos relative to our accomplishments, so that must have been rough.

Whoa, that's so mean. I'm glad it was finally realized, did he ever discover who did that? I hope he's doing okay now.

2

He never said who did it, but he lived in a hostel that year so I think his suspect list is long

I wish it would be as socially easy to vocally approve or encourage someone as it is to put a like.

I strongly believe people would be surprised.

Already am!

Handing out compliments to strangers once in a while, and supporting good points

The best advice I ever got was this: if a compliment about someone pops into your head, you should tell them.

Like I have to add the caveat don't be a creepy fuck (unless you know them and they like that) because there's 8 billions of us and that means there are folk who are super creepy just by law of large populations. I'm talking about real compliments, not preludes to flirts or slaps.

2

Absolutely! I usually pick more neutral compliments and make sure I give them to both men and women alike.

2

Regularly but I'm a musician. I may not have heard it said explicitly, but they usually walk out humming whatever I played and that counts double.

Am I the only one who read lemmy speak in a sqeaky voice in my head?

If you get 12 comments under your post on Lemmy, then you probably went on .ml and told them the Soviet Union wasn't that great.

Can whichever one of you left their cereal bowl in the sink please clean it and get it out of there before the END OF THE NEXT MAYAN LONG COUNT CALENDAR?!?!!

Sorry . . .sorry . . . been a long day.

If you could please reply to this comment, we may get enough replies!

I hate that meme. It's so braindead stupid. Of course whether a number is a lot or not depends on what you're counting. Welcome to just about any imaginable reality whatsoever. Have you learnt about the concept of numbers and counting only yesterday?

(I'm sure this made more sense in the original context. But that is stripped from pretty much all uses of the meme.)

I’ve never cared for this template. It just doesn’t make sense to ask if a number is a lot without knowing the context, and iirc it’s not what they’re saying in the scene anyway.

Nice meme tho.
