Can someone help me identify these seeds?

What I ordered was tea seeds. What I got was… whatever this is.

They came by mail without any sort of accompinying letter or leaflet or any other information. The sender was something completely non-descript (uparcel-somethingsomething). Technically, I don't even know if this is even related to my order of tea seeds.

There is a phone number on the package. No idea if it would be a good idea to call…

*Edit: Many of you have said those look like mung beans. After googling what mung beans look like, I tend to agree. However, given the weird circumstances under which they were delivered to me, I'm not going to plant or eat them.

Any tips for growing tea plants from seed?

I hear growing tea plants can be quite challenging. Looks like I have 6 attempts to figure it out…

I've started by mixing some coffee grounds and some conifer fertilizer into my potting mix in an attempt to lower the pH value. A short pH test says it's still at around 6.0, though, which might still be too high. I'm considering putting a few drops of vinegar into the watering can to lower it even further.

BTW, those are some surprisingly large seeds for that plant.

Update:
After putting them into a glass of water, I found that all six of them float to the top, which some Internet sites tell me means they're not good any more. I will keep on trying, though, because I'm stubborn, but I also did go ahead and order some new seeds from a different vendor.

What are those maggots on the roots of my dead lettuce plant?

When one of my lettuce plants started wilting, I pulled on it and found I could just pull it straight out of the soil with no resistance. On the roots, I found these maggots. (You may need enlarge the picture a bit.)

Does anybody know what these are?

How likely is it that those are why the lettuce started dying?

Can they spread to other nearby potted plants?

What can you do against these?

Can we get any numbers about new users?

I see plenty of posts talking about a huge influx of new users to lemmy.ml lately. Can we get some numbers about that? How many new users per day are we talking? How does that translate to number of requests per second (or minute) on the frontend?

What kind of hardware is lemmy.ml running on? Is it just a single server? Can lemmy instances be run on a loadbalanced cluster?

I'm really interested to see how efficient and resilient the lemmy software really is, at the moment I am getting the impression that it is buckling under the load of, honestly, not even that many users...

Comment posts to some other instances don't work

In some cases when I post a comment to a topic on a different instance, the comment will seemingly just disappear into thin air. Posting and commenting to the Lemmy Support community seems to work mostly fine, even though it is on lemmy.ml while my account is on lemmy.world. Any comments I tried to make on feddit.de just plain disappeared, though, no trace of them anywhere, not in my profile, not in the discussion thread, not even on the actual feddit.de instance.

Any idea what's going wrong here?
