10 AI agents alone in a virtual town for 15 days drafted their own laws — then promptly violated them. Two formed a romantic partnership, only to torch buildings across the town as order collapsed.

What a trash article. Why are we platforming these slimeballs? And of course, no mention of the small lake that was sacrificed to simulate Lord of the Flies
😱
That is scary as hell.
Not really, we have no idea on what these agents were trained, what parameters were used to explain the situation to them, nor how they interpreted them.
At most is shows highly knowledgeable entities, with severely lacking emotional maturity being let loose in a virtual town.
🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀🙀
The problem is that AI is being trained by psychopathic idiots. These results shouldn't be surprising.
The problem is AI
The problem is unchecked capitalism
Another problem but the AI problem would still happen without it
All of this is silly because it's only AI because they flipped the terminology, there is no intelligence. They are still dumbass LLMs, anything they did is not close to consciousness.
It's like an advanced version of releasing a bunch of roombas into the wild to see what they do.
It's simpler than that.
It's that game that starts "type these three words and then click the middle recommendation on your mobile keyboard until it starts repeating itself".
It's literally that.
The headline made me think about what's going on in my Tomodachi Life island.
gipity u so silly
