Nice assumption. But metal and top 40 are not the only options.

So smart he needs someone to tell him what music he likes

Why do you think that?

They don't need someone to tell them all metal is garbage, so why should they need someone to tell them what music they do like?

we the delegates of the metalhead nation, would like to trade glam metal back to whomever for nothing in return.

thank you.

To be fair, a lot of metalcore is garbage. Maybe that's what uptight suit guy was listening to?

Love this meme.

It really steps on the toes of the metal elitists who think 'only metal is real music'.

There is nothing as subjective as music. Every song has someone who likes it, because otherwise that song wouldn't exist.

I would venture to say that there are definitely objective aspects of music too, like pitch accuracy. I feel like pitch correction and Auto-tune may have some merit, but in most cases cheapen music, especially when applied to classics.

Also, metal is garbage.

Hair metal is literally the exact same thing as glam metal, which is on the list.

Let's be honest there's extreme overlap on most of these labels. You can take out half of them and it wouldn't change the number of bands represented.

I don't disagree, but in this case they are actually the exact same thing. "Hair metal" was a derogatory term someone came up with to describe glam metal bands of the late 80s who they felt were more obsessed with their extravagant hairstyles than with actually making music.

They are literally two different terms for the same genre.

Some fans who either didn't get the joke or just didn't care I guess eventually started using the term endearingly

I meant crust. But also, I suppose I can get behind crust punk being garbage tho. It's literally the whole asthetic
