Sometimes South Park I think is a bit too nihilistic in a weaponized way for me but to be fair it has also gone straight at the assholes of the world too, but even from my mixed-bag perspective on South Park I can see Trump attacking South Park is probably the absolute worst thing Trump could possibly do that I could possibly imagine.

South Park writers will steamroll Trump over and over again, I really hope this feud continues because it is going to be hilarious. Like... say what you will about South Park writers, you cannot deny that they aren't smart, reactive to changing cultural realities and willing to say it how the writers think it is... and Trump is absolutely none of those things (and he is only getting more out of touch as he deteriorates mentally).

This is like watching a nature documentary where a bee sees one of those parasite wasps and bravely tries to intimidate it away and you are like "oof... this is going to end realllll bad for you buddy" as you listen to the narrator describe how the parasitic wasp will inject its eggs into the bee to use as an incubator.

:)

I mean, this is embarassing for Trump and the people around him at the basic level that they clearly don't actually understand South Park isn't really leftist, or at least it isn't reflective of the vast majority of leftism in the US now. South Park is its own thing and it has frequently pissed of the left as much as the right, that is kind of the point of the show?

facepalm

We should also remember that they turn around episodes in under a week. And when something REALLY juicy happens, they'll do it in under a day.

68

This season is going to be a bit more dated, mostly because of the custody battle. But they're obviously adding more recent things in before they air.

They just got $1.5 billion to make fifty more episodes and anything the White House says will just be fodder for another episode.

41

And if Paramount pulls the show to appease Dementor, they still get 1.5 billion.

I don't even understand the motivation. Much of Trump's 2020 coalition is composed of white guys who got their entire education of the world from Comedy Central reruns. They have a stronger loyalty to South Park than they do to Trump.

19

There isn't necessarily anything to understand, Trump is a very old man with shit health hygiene and he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed to begin with...

15

I’ve really enjoyed latter day South Park. The early stuff ain’t my thing tho.

Hasn’t been relevant? South Park has been the most relevant social commentary for nearly the entire run of the show. Now more than ever

67

I hadn't watched it in years, but I watched this episode earlier because the free advertising they are getting from this now.

29

Honestly I loved Season 19, it absolutely raked modern culture, like the SoDoSoPa episodes, the town desperately trying to get a whole foods while ignoring everything wrong with it. Highly recommend it.

If the show hasn't been relevant for 20 years then why is the Whitehouse bothering to comment on it? Is the Whitehouse going to release a statement about Andromeda?

60

I mean, it's not going to hit us for 5 billion years, very irrelevant

3

This Show Hasn’t Been Relevant for Over 20 Years!

As the White House addresses the South Park episode.

54

It's so not relevant that he felt compelled to respond to it...

No way Trump himself has seen the episode yet. I’m expecting a monumental meltdown when he does. That desert PSA left me with my jaw on the floor- one of the most brazen “fuck you”s to Trump I’ve ever seen.

To be the fly on the wall when he sees his tiny pecker on South Park. Wonder if his heart can even take the outrage?

8

agreed. That was clearly calculated to elicit some kind of reaction like a massive lawsuit.

1

i can think of 1.5 billion reasons why its still relevant.

also, they spelled 'hot flash' wrong in reference to that geriatric piece of feces

25
  1. “White House bashes whines like the ass damaged little bitch it is after South Park parody”, and

  2. Good job Streisand effecting the very thing you’re whining about, you dumb fucking cunts.

The only two things that will remain after the heat death of the universe are photons and republican stupidity.

23

It was shockingly funny. Felt almost normal for a moment in the wake of this monumental cultural divide unraveling across our nation.

Ah, crap...

I wonder how much of the 1.5B is guaranteed, knowing that the current admin will do any and everything to get them off the air. Hell of a payday if it only makes it half a season.

18

Are you suggesting someone could actually get this show canceled? Wasn't season 22 about them basically not even being able to cancel their own show?

He gets what he wants, like a screaming toddler with virtually zero repercussions. Of course I think he will try. He made CBS tuck tail and pay him money. He made Colbert disappear. What's to stop him?

3

He made Colbert disappear.

Heh. Anything to get them to spend their energy, money and influence.

I imagine that the shift to Podcasts will decisively silence Colbert to an equal extent as it did Conan.

Noticed they listed a “1/50” on that “pro-Trump PSA” bit. I hope they’ve actually prepared 50 of those.

I think they agreed to 5 more seasons with 10 episodes each so I'm guessing it's gonna happen, Unless they get cancelled first.

Paramount paid them $1.5B for more South Park (both new episodes and for exclusive streaming rights on Paramount+ for all of the older seasons) so if they cancel them it could be very expensive.

They are, in my opinion, trying to get cancelled.

Like, I think they've been hoping to get cancelled for maybe 5 or 6 years now. They've been doing this a long time.

But now they're ENERGIZED. They're on a MISSION.

I think they'll succeed. It's going to be a blaze of fucking glory and I'm really really glad that they're doing this instead of Simpsoning.

11

For sure. The sentiment from the ending of the episode was that it may be the last episode of South Park.

2

I haven't seen a good South Park episode in many years. It's long past the time it was any good.

But if it manages to piss off the fascist orange utan, I guess the show still has something of value in it.

15

I haven't watched in years but the clip i just watched put a grin on my face.

18

Keep it coming you orange bag of crap ... everything you say just brings attention to everyone else that's against you

10

Good idea to stir shit with probably the only animators that could keep pace pumping out episodes relevant to admin's daily fuck ups.

The South Park episode was great. Right after I watched it I saw the new video posted by Trump himself. He is clearly suffering from dementia at this point and is barely holding on to reality.

I'd check the internet, in the usual places. Follow your heart, let your conscience be your guide, and always remember to floss your teeth, tail, and toes.

What's that Barbra? I should check out a show I haven't watched in years? Thanks Babs!

6

I hadn't even thought about that show easily over 15 years, and a mate of mine told me to watch it. I think South Park is about to be relevant again.

Also, that episode is gross and hilarious.

Guess I'll have to start watching again?

5

Do put of touch and not relevant that they just signed the largest TV deal in history. Twice.
