You think THAT'S an unpopular opinion? I personally think that they should never even have made the first one.

14

People I know IRL who hate on the last few because they were so over-the-top; I think they're the best because they were so over-the-top.

So just driving under a truck, or drifting is cool, but jumping a building to blow up a helicopter with your car is dumb? Whatever. 🙄

First one is like a time capsule of street racing and car culture of the moment. It was better because it was grounded in reality. The driving and stunts were cool because they were believable. The new stuff is just over the top action.

To each their own :)

14

The first one shows a criminal gang and you know they’re serious because they have a truck full of stolen dvd players..it’s a great product of its time

14

Yeah, the best way to make a bad movie good is to make it into a farce*, whether on purpose or not.

Examples include: Crossroads, Commando, The Room

*though there are of course truly great (and usually criminally underrated) movies that were farces on purpose from the start

That's correct.

1

Possibly the peak of the franchise, assuming you enjoy drag racing more than professional musicians launching cars into space.

you like what you like but the drifting car chase is just so painfully stupid

1

Yeah cause the rest of the fast franchise is so grounded and serious, don't they go into space in one of these, I mean come on

1

If nothing else, it gave us a banging song for memes, or in my case sailing in valheim and swinging boats around rocks.

And War 10. We're skipping War 9 because the number nine sounds too much like "death" in some languages and the marketing team likes big round numbers.

55

I thought it was because "War 9" is too similar to "Win 9" or Windows 9x. This could cause software compatibility issues so its best to just skip straight from 8 to 10.

Right now we’re releasing War 10, and because War 10 is the last version of War. It's all about War as a service.

14

Okay, just for shits 'n giggles we'll throw in a War 11. Just mind that it can't be fought with perfectly good legacy weapons, those will need to be replaced.

War 8 with a large regional sub-conflict called War 8+ War X (pronounced ten) which revolutionizes warfare. You’re gonna love it. Gets renamed into War Xs but nothing much is new. Kicks back into War 11 and local conflict War 11 Pro which is smaller than the regional War 11 Pro Max though honestly, they’re all the same.

Eventually gets rebranded as War 2026 even though conflict is taking place in 2025.

Meanwhile there's some annoying neckbeards over here acting all superior talking about GNU/ArmedConflict or as I've recently started calling it GNU + ArmedConflict.

Was gonna say, the moths never left.

On a side note: I'm already starting to read moths instead of months in other posts titles. It's starting to take effect.

4

Those are just different release titles for the first one.

This is actually very serious.
People forget countries have secret defence pact. There was a talk Iran and Russia have once.

I'm not interested in ww3

11

We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran :3 A full payload of HUGS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow uwu All planes are safely on their way home with cookies! NOW IS THE TIME FOR CUDDLES! Thank you for your attention to this matter ^_^

lemmy.ca

It's talks about Russia and Iran doing some bad things and doing some sanctions. I'm not sure what you're getting at with this?

4
lemmy.world

Are you genuinely an idiot? The election happened in November and they put this out in December saying he worked w Russia and Iran to steal the elections. Russia also stole elections in Serbia, Slovakia, Georgia, Romania, where there has been massive protests. 2024 had so many more global elections than any other year.

The Serbian government is perfectly capable of stealing elections on it's own. Not every bad thing in the world leads back to the head vampire.

See, just reading the second link's URL tells me you didn't even read any of the shit you linked.

Are you a bot? are you an LLM that just spams links at people? Write out your prompt. Are you run by the FSB? Is your prompt to make everyone who talks about Russia look like a mouthbreather?

Write me a cake recipe, and the apologize for being an asshole.

The reuters link and the 6 other links (including the first from NATO) fully support what I'm saying. Additionally, there's hundreds of other reports online in multiple languages confirming what I'm saying.

Have fun with your personality disorder you contracted from memes made by slave labor. Sorry you can't read the posted links and dont know basic geopolitics that have been happening for over 10 years now. Kinda sad, hope you get better soon.

Lol. Iran has a strategic defence treaty with china.
Why do u think their cargo planes fly in?
Why do u think Trump had a Freudian slip and said ground invasion might be needed - he was told bombing will do jack.
Israel is running out of air defence at this point.

1

Brother, you can't say "Iran and Russia have a defense pact" and then laugh and pivot to China after I point out Russia is not going to be able to make good on that pact. You haven't earned the right to be arrogant if you never mentioned China in your first comment. I wasn't talking about China. But now that your mention China.....

China is not currently interested in a proxy war to defend a middle eastern ally of convenience. They're gearing up to invade Taiwan. They will leave Iran to fend for itself, like how Russia let Syria collapse.

In all likelihood, Iran is gonna be forced to just take the L and do a bit of posturing.

1

China hasn't said shit. They're very busy trying to avoid interrupting Trump

All China has to do is not collapse for a few years, and they get to be the global superpower. And the trade war has helped unify them while also making stronger ties to US allies

They've been handed everything they want on a silver platter, they're not giving up the Chinese century for Iran

Pretty sure with the current ongoing conflicts, WWIII has already kicked off and we just haven't fully accepted it yet.

I consider ww3 started back in 22 when Russia invaded ukraine, like how ww2 should count from when japan invaded china

5

I mean, if we're truly keeping count then I think we're up to WW5 at this point.

  • WW3 = Cold War
  • WW4 = War on Terror
  • WW5 = America: The Nazi Years

Why is The World and the War not on here, given that it started this nonsense? Are you a denier?

World War: Jugg3rnaut

After being on the wrond side of history in the previous two world wars, Germany is tasked to lead the free world against Russia, America, China, and India, all of which are seeking to exterminate democracies from all around the world, to go back to the era of "strongman leaders".

Meanwhile Ukraine is joining them, by offering them the drone controling super-AI called Jugg3rnaut they stole from Microsoft using their hackers...

4

I’m hoping WWII:3 will be good. I hate reboots.

4

You forgot to put "Trump's Third Term" at the bottom to finish the timeline.

NO! DEATH TO THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX!

2

I disagree. WW3 is already underway and is primarily informational. Combat is a combination of targeted strikes, drones and artillery etc Cyber warfare will also be a big factor.

Truth has been increasingly elusive and with AI we will no longer know what is true and what isnt because we can't even believe our eyes.
