…but the Bible literally predicted this.

As a former Christian, It's been SO hard keeping my non-faith while actively living at the same time as the Anti-Christ.

Same, I was just saying to my wife maybe Revelations was pretty spot on after all

Dude REALLY wants to be the anti-Christ, and the "Christians" that put him in office want that too. They think they'll be rewarded for putting their fellow humans(& the planet) through hell, and bringing on the end-of-days sooner, rather than later.

The Bible says there will be many antichrists. Anyone who contradicts Jesus' teachings, or misrepresents or misunderstands are antichrists. That would include misogynistic apostles. (1 John 2:18)

Hard agree, but I'm not here to argue against entire denominations. I personally despise any organization/religion above the Congregation level.

5

So, Nathaniel Hawthorne has been on my mind, recently (oooh, illuminati, Freemason! They used to have some measure of honor, you can search up the Freemason symbology of pauper Mozart's The Magic Flute, Manly Hall and Lon Duquette do excellent justice to the topic), he wrote Young Goodman Brown for reasons (although being guilty himself of not understanding indigenous American culture, but ignorance of the time, we all are guilty).

1

American Christians are pure evil but there’s a lot going on now that lines up with warnings issued in their book

9

The Bible is more of less a study in human error and human potential. Of course they have caught on to the concept of narcissistic idiots in power being a bad thing. I'm sure there were plenty of those back in the day and plenty who were far worse than trump.

Hell, we have leaders right now in the world who are worse than trump and they have all been in power for decades. The biggest difference is that most of them are smarter and more cunning than trump, who is an 80 year old toddler that wants attention all the time.

If Obama had made a stupid meme dressed as the pope, "Christians" would have burned the White House to the ground, it would have literally started a war. Its absolutely INSANE to me how much this man gets away with. He's right, you really can do anything when you're rich.

Iono about the white part, Biden couldn't have pulled that off either.

31
lemmy.world

It's really as simple as Trump hating the right people. He hates the same people that his voters hate and because of that he can get away with almost anything. Trump voters have been waiting a long time for a president that will openly and unapologetically spew hatred. They ignore the fact he is a narcissistic lying idiot who does not stand for almost anything religious people claim they care about.

21

They know. They don't care because they are fakes, too.

3

Oh yeah I totally get that, that was my point: it's not white privilege, it's just telling people what they want to hear.

I think with Biden they would have been pissed and took to the internet and Fox News about it, but the pure hatered for Obama was something that people are very easily forgetting these days. People legitimately believed he was the Anti-Christ and a Muslim. They would have actually rioted in the streets.

8
Ledericasreply
lemm.ee

the key here he was half black, and it all broke thier minds.

3

Sure I get that loads of people really hated Obama for lots of reasons. I sincerely don't think this is a racial thing though: it's a tribal thing, us vs them. Republicans are perceived as being on the side of Christianity (us) so they are given a lot more leeway in these matters, where Democrats (them) are the enemy of Christianity and every slight however small must be countered in the strongest possible terms (see: 'the war on Christmas' and other stupid shit.)

Would the outrage have been greater if it was Obama instead of Biden? Absolutely, I'm not questioning that at all. I'm just saying don't think there wouldn't be outrage against Biden just because he's not black.

2
Libra00reply
lemmy.world

I definitely think there would've been more outrage if it was Obama vs Biden, but this is a tribal thing, Democrats are 'them' and any perceived slight by 'them' must be countered in the strongest possible terms, so there would still have been plenty of outrage at Biden too.

0

I think there would’ve been outrage, but I don’t think it would’ve started a war

1
lemmy.world

It's the worst. Even on the state level. People in the state I'm from used to have a positive stereotype about them, so that I felt good about sharing where I grew up in conversation.

That state turned red and they've been legislating against anyone who isn't a white, straight, rich person. If people find out where I'm from, I have to do extra work to make sure people don't assume I'm a hateful idiot.

So that's what it's like, but on the international level now. I wish I had dual citizenship so I could at least travel internationally with a different passport (or relocate altogether). I know Americans have had a reputation of being rude or entitled abroad, but that's far better than people assuming I'm a Trump-loving, delusional, fascist.

16

Depending on your skill set, relocating is not such a big deal. Of course I understand that it's a leap of faith, if you don't have already connections to that place.

1

So cringe to be american rn and he was elected twice HAHAHAHAAHAHA embarrassing AF

Lol, are you referencing KGs remarks in Australia, by chance...?

2

He's distracting from the fact that he called for all Democrats to be removed from Congress. It's a smokescreen bc of how ludicrous it is.

45

Why should the call for removal not be a smokescreen?

What is the thing that the upper class does that doesn't receive any attention but should make us worried?

As soon as the pope died I told my partner he would do this.

"Some say, not me, that I would be the best pope there ever was. I am the most wonderful christian man there is. The presidency has been very successful - just look at the polls! From today I declare myself POPE TRUMP!!! The DANGEROUS left will call me many nasty things, many bad things. They are deranged and nasty but I am now the pope and they will not do anything about it because they are WEAK. Some say Sleepy Joe Biden killed the pope, now I don't know if that is true, I don't think it is but it might be true, I don't know. KING POPE TRUMP 2028!!!"

38

I think a prerequisite to becoming pope is knowing how to read

3

Trump, that's not how it works.

Just because you ordered Vance to assassinate that old man doesn't mean you're the Pope. Vance, as his slayer, is the Pope now, so you have to kill Vance.

34
lemm.ee

Trump has said that although he was “confirmed at a Presbyterian church as a child, I now consider myself to be a non-denominational Christian.”

Uhhhh....he's not even Catholic? That's kinda a prerequisite for THE LEADER OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH!

He's completely trolling, right? I mean it's gotta be cover for something happening that he wants to distract people from. He can't be that stupid that to think he can actually be Pope......can he?

30

He's wholly incapable of understanding that the things he says or believes can be false. "If I said it/believe it, it must be true."

5

IDK, what he said about his daughter and knowing Jeffey Epstein are some solid credentials.

4
lemm.ee

Pretty sure this is now illegal in Texas

27

I say we nominate him for Sainthood...

24
lemmy.world

Again, this fully convinces me he definitely did NOT order the assassination of the pope.

What did it say that the president of the USA is non-stop pulling attention seeking stunts like your crazy aunt on Facebook? Guess it must be lonely being surrounded by sycophants.

Nah, he is just gaslighting overwhelming everyone. Tons of insane and insulting shit to occupy the media and people, so that he can pull all the stunts he he wants. Drowning everything in noise so that no one knows what to focus on anymore.

Don't get me wrong, he is batshit insane bud there is a certain method to his madness.

Edit: Looks like I was using 'gaslighting' incorrectly.

It's a terrifying mix of a Gish gallop (a stampede of lies and half truths, delivered so fast they can't be countered) and razzle dazzle (camouflage via a swarm of irrelevant or counter intuitive points).

It's terrifyingly effective, and very difficult to counter.

8

Would be much easier to counter if there was a functional system of checks and balances or a well-educated population that'd hold their leaders accountable, but here we are.

4

Because he already wears makeup, a girdle and spray tan. I’m all for it if it means he has to change jobs and gtfo

1

The trajectory of the shit moving toward the fan has reached its end.

2

Yes please take him as the Pope and remove him from the presidency.

11

This guy reminds me of that movie Little Nicky where Satan’s son comes to earth and is preaching to a church congregation (while standing in a pizza? Am I remembering this accurately?).

He even paints his face orange like the devil lol

Edit: Here it is

10

These people fixate on the weirdest shit. People like my mom that lives in rural Oklahoma thinks ms13 is gonna kidnap one of her grandkids cause of these idiots. I can't even fight it anymore, some people WANT to live in fear

9
lemmy.world

Exactly.

It's all meant to make people outraged and distracted, and we all keep falling for it.

Please let's not entertain completely absurd shit like that.

Imagine every time your boomer aunt posted that same shit Trump does on her Facebook it ended up in the news-- it's clearly delusional and giving it attention gives it validity even if it is only criticisms.

12

This is so frustrating, right? The king of the baboons is insane and addicted to attention, so he throws shit around and spits at everyone who comes to close. And all the other baboons circle around him, watching every move he makes so they can jump and scream as soon as he does.
Stop reporting, stop reacting, it doesn't accomplish anything, it's a waste of time.

3

Yep and they've already moved onto Trump as sithlord for May 4th. This just isn't news. They're little Internet creeps and they intend to stay that way. People need to stop caring about what "memes" the "official Whitehouse account" posts.

Edit: Ask yourselves, is it really news that this guy typed a sentence into an AI image generator?

Okay, he can be the pope if it means he is no longer president. There is slightly less damage he can do that way!

7

A lot less damage I'd say. Also, the job is for life, and even if he resigned they'd lock him away in some villa and he wouldn't be allowed to make public statements anymore.

Win win win if you ask me.

2

Someone with some photoshop skill ought to change this to be the face from the painting Trump said he hated it and then reply to his post with it. Bonus points if you add some greasy McDonald's stains to the hat and/or robe.

6

I feel like it's extreme ragebaiting/trolling. Either way had a massive laugh despite him being an ass

0

I think he wants to put the idea out there that he could "step in" as pope if needed.

-1
lemmy.world

Why not?

It's a made-up, nonsensical, pretend belief system. Anyone could be Pope.
