Entwurf des Ministeriums - Bas' Arbeitszeit-Pläne sorgen für scharfe Kritik

Arbeitsministerin Bärbel Bas (SPD) will die Abweichungen vom Acht-Stunden-Tag an Tarifverträge knüpfen.

[Help][Deck] infinite Steam Logo after wake Bug, any fix unrelated to animations?

My Steam Deck OLED does the thing where after waking from sleep it infinitely displays the spinning logo, the game sound is audible but I can't actually get into the game. In most cases no buttons react, not even the Steam button. Only way out is a forced shutdown. Everything works again after a restart.

I've read online that disabling startup animations is supposedly a workaround for that. The thing is, that feature is not and was never turned on on my device. Does anybody know of different reasons or fixes for the bug?

Should Construction Bots use my inventory?

This is a noob question, hope you don't mind.

Should construction bots from roboport buildings use items in my inventory to build? They're not, but maybe I am doing something wrong?

I'm wearing a powered personal roboport and am standing inside the orange area of the roboport building, yet only my 10 personal bots are working. As soon as I put some of my inventory into a yellow chest, the "outside" bots start using items from the chest to help.

Constructing big blueprints kind of takes ages this way, having to switch my inventory over fixes it but is annoying. I thought all bots should consider me part of the network, so they should use my inventory.

[Help] non-steam games infinite loading screen in game mode

EDIT: I originally only tried switching between the last 2 proton versions and that didn't work. But then I realized that last weekend, when it last worked, the current one was actually ge-proton 10-6. Switched back to that and it seems to have fixed it. So, some ge-proton update in between apparently doesn't play nice with game mode. Should have thought about that from the start.

Thanks to all who replied.

Original post: On my steam deck OLED I have several GOG games installed via heroic and added to steam via heroic's built in function. Those games were working fine last weekend.

I was going to play tonight but starting from game mode, my non-steam games are now stuck in an infinite loading screen (spinning steam logo) but with their audio playing in the background. As far as I can tell I didn't change anything in between, but there might have been an update installed after my last gaming session, I'm not sure.

The main one I am trying to get to work again is Star Renegades. I also tested with The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak with the same outcome.

Steam games seem to work normally.

Affected games work just fine in desktop mode, from heroic as well as the desktop steam app. But as I mainly play in docked mode on my TV that's no real alternative (TV isn't recognized outside game mode).

Switching proton versions didn't seem to work, neither did changing from full screen to windowed, rebooting the steam deck multiple times and re-adding the game to steam.

Heroic, steam, the games, proton and just about anything else I can think of are updated to their current stable versions.

I found some posts on the internet suggesting it had to do with the startup animation settings, but those are all switched off and I never touched them.

Does anybody have any ideas what else to check?

[PSA] 2.4g Controllers and interference with USB 3 ports (e.g. docks)

So far I only found some obscure mention of this issue on reddit (somewhat buried too), but for the sake of not relying on that platform anymore I thought the info should be on lemmy.

I recently got an 8bitdo ultimate 2c wireless controller to try out with my steam deck which I mostly use docked in TV mode. (Edit: I use the jsaux 6-in-1 dock.)

After initial testing looked good (2.4g mode connects, all buttons work, rumble works) I quickly ran into an issue where the controller would disconnect and shut down every minute or so or begin to rumble continuously without apparent reason. Not so in Bluetooth mode or with a cable.

What fixed the issue for me was connecting the 2.4 dongle not directly to my dock (which only has USB 3 ports) but doing so via an extension cable (edit: just a cheap male to female USB extension, the shortest one I could get).

Apparently, the active USB 3 port causes some kind of interference with the 2.4g signal, which is fixed by a few cm of physical distance. My dongle is now lying maybe 5cm away from the dock and the controller works flawlessly.
