I have two partitions, one for the OS, and one for storage. Can I expand the OS partition without losing data?

Title, I installed my system with two partitions, a big one and a small one for the OS. I figured 100GB would be enough for the OS one, but apparently not as it keeps filling up. Steam keeps filling it for some reason, something to do with Proton. I know that messing with partition sizes has a risk of data loss and all that, and I don't really want to lose parts of my OS.

Could somebody help me change where Steam installs Proton/compatibility stuff to?

I'm on Mint. I have two partitions, one at 100GB I set up for the main OS installation, and another 1.9TB installation I use for storage. But the first partition is getting some storage issues, which comes partly from Timeshift (which I already redirected) and partially from Steam, specifically Proton. I want to redirect Steam onto the larger partition, but the space Steam takes up in this way is taken up by several smaller files and folders that add up to a lot, so I feel unsure about how to change things properly.

And a follow-up question, is it safe for me to expand that smaller drive with Gparted or something, or would that put the data on it at risk? Since it's the OS partition, that's important data.

Do Vulkan shaders need to be processed before every game?

Often when I launch a game through Steam that "processing Vulkan shaders" window appears and loads for a couple minutes. Sometimes it takes no time, sometimes it takes several minutes. But then, for larger games like Dune Awakening or Outer Worlds 2, the game needs to sit and process shaders for another couple minutes anyway. But for some games, like Enshrouded, I can skip the Vulkan processing with no problems in the game (I do that because the Vulkan processing doesn't go anywhere). So what is that Vulkan processing for?

Should a PvPvE game have to offer a PvE-only mode?

Arc Raiders had a free playtest this weekend, and some players are arguing that the game needs a PvE-only mode. In the game players are tasked with scavenging resources from an open map infested with enemy robots alongside other players, with players not in your group effectively being another type of enemy. This, of course, has some players saying that fighting enemy robots is enough, that they don't need the extra stress of having to fight off other players too. The pro-PvP players are, of course, saying that this is what the game is, and if you don't like it you should go play something else.

It's not like that's never been done before. Sea of Thieves is another PvPvE game, and not too long ago it too got a PvE-only mode.

What do you say about this? Should a game that wants to be both PvE and PvP also offer exclusive modes?

Antiviruses?

I know that Linux is more secure than Windows and normally doesn't need an antivirus, but know myself I'm gonna end up downloading something at some point from somewhere on the internet, and it would be good to be prepared. So, which antivirus would you recommend for Linux (Mint specifically) just to double up on security?

How do I make Steam find my storage partition without having to go into Steam settings and point it out?

Bear with me, I only just made the move from Windows. I have two partitions on my drive, one small with all the OS files and such, and one large to be used for storage and installing games and such. I've made sure to take ownership of this partition and all that to make I don't need root access to it. I set this up yesterday, and today I found that Steam did not find the storage partition. I had to go into the Steam settings to point out the drive. Can I change things so I don't have to do that every time I boot up my PC?
