And they're delicious. Although usually not just plain meat, but filled with wonderful spices

No joke I made kofta a few month ago and I will probably not make them again because I didn't realize what they resembled until I put them on my plate.

Edit: I found a photo of it. It's even worse than I remember.

I don't think I've ever tried proper pickled onions. Do you have a favorite recipe? Would love to try them!

2

You can do it the same way you pickle cucumbers, just leave out the cucumbers (or use less of em).

Not quite pickled, but raw onions in vinegar with sumak are great (let em sit for like an hour)

Interesting, I've never heard of Sumak!

Seems I can get it as a ground spice. How much do I roughly put into how much vinegar? Just let it sit cold, or heat it up?

Imagine swallowing one of these plain, with only the grease to lubricate it's journey down your throat.

Waiter: "your meal, sir. please open your mouth and relax your throat so I may serve you properly, face-fucking you with our poop pieces"

2

That sounds amazing. I already eat spoonfuls of ground beef out of the pan when prepping for other meals, so why not?

that exists in bosnia. it is called ćevapi. literally the taste of a hamburger.

20

In North Macedonia too. They serve it with cucumber salad and soft white cheese, and it's amazing.

Now do hotdogs in the shape of hamburgers. Just a weird, smooth, round-edged red disc of meat

14

Does not work as the Fallingbostel mechanism needs the Sausage to be about as long as it is wide.

In Norway they are sold as fast food and are called rollerburger

14
lemmy.world

Brother, we sell them in every 7/11 in the US and we pack them with cheese. They are mass produced turds.

8

they look like the one that clogged my toilet a couple of days ago.

The cheese looks like corn. Lol! Where the hell are these sold in the US?

3

Never seen those before, I expected you were going to show the other things on the rollers, toquidos rollers or what not? Not sure

They usually have:

Hot dogs (pork/beef/jalapenos/cheese)

Sausages of some kind

Buffalo chicken rollers or such

Toquidos

Jamaican beef patties

All of which are not very good, unless you are drunk, then you don't understand why you don't eat them more.

2

Ah, you made cevapcici, just some onions and kaymak in a lepinja and you're in heaven

Blatant rip-off of the Norwegian invention "roller burger", which was a turd shaped hamburger intended to be served at gas stations using their hot dog rollers and a hot dog bun.

10

Used to live across from a 711 that had hotdog shaped burger... Tubes or whatever you wanna call it. Basically this, except super uniform. Pretty sure it was extruded instead of formed or rolled or something.

They were not good lol

5

They are called a cheeseburger bite and they are aight fresh but in general you are shaving years off your life eating one

4

I was on a cruise once. Upper deck mini-buffet had a plate of piped black bean croquettes.

They were lumpy like the beef here, and because they were piped, one side of the ends was pinched off.

The head chef for the boat was making his rounds. We were laughing at the presentation. He smiled at us probably thinking what are these assholes laughing at, he looked down, frowed, what za fuk were zey thinking putting shit out like this. Within a few minutes the pan disappeared and the next day that buffet was quite pretty.

8

Paraphrasing: what is a hot dog but meat in an intestant. When you consume a hot dog, you do not eat the hot dog, you become the hot dog.

8

They evolved. Just like they would inside your body.

...in Brazil those are sold in skewers, people call them kafta. And yes, if you don't take care while shaping them, they'll look, well... not really appetising.

7

The correct way to do this is by making them into meatballs and make a meatball sub.

7-11 Cheeseburger Bite. Hamburger in the shape of a hot dog, with nacho cheese injected into the middle. Put it on a hot dog bun, and top it with their free chili and nacho cheese. Most 7-11s don't carry them any more, so when I find one that does, I immediately buy two and them shotgun them in my car in the parking lot.

Also, some dude said that in the northeast US they call them "hamdogs".
