How to disable notifications for failed comments, upvotes, etc.?

Thanks for building such a great app - it's my favorite way to interface with Lemmy!

Is there any way to customize or turn off notifications for failed actions, like failed comments, upvotes, etc? I don't really care if these actions fail, and I'd like to avoid having to go all the way over to the tab to delete them if possible. I tried searching for the answer before posting but couldn't find anything.

Thanks again for all you do!

DS1 meme build PVP videos

I was just watching Regole's latest video speedrunning a Giant Dad build, and it made me want to go back to watch the original.

Then I found myself watching a few others, and I think at this point my all-time favorite is Big Truck. Or maybe The Ruse.

What's your favorite DS1 meme PVP build video?

Edit: The Wall from Elden Ring is pretty iconic too. Here's the original DS1 "The Wall", which is another true classic.

Having trouble downloading a forum thread with wget and httrack

I'm a big Civ IV fan, and I'd like to download all of the Sample Game threads on this Civfanatics site: https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/sample-game-directory.258697/

I'd like to have all of the posts and images from each sample game, each of which is a forum thread with multiple pages, posts, and images hosted from elsewhere.

Here's the wget function I tried (which I mostly stole from here https://letswp.justifiedgrid.com/download-discourse-forum-wget/) :
wget --mirror --page-requisites --convert-links --adjust-extension --compression=auto --reject-regex "/search" --no-if-modified-since --no-check-certificate --execute robots=off --random-wait --wait=1 --user-agent="Googlebot/2.1 (+http://www.google.com/bot.html)" --no-cookies -r https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/sample-game-directory.258697/

It gave me an index file that was way too small, and while it did take me to the index page, seemingly locally on my system, clicking on any of the forum threads took me to the actual website instead of a local mirror. Also I don't think any of the images (which are linked from elsewhere) downloaded.

I'm mostly just interested in a subset of the sample games, so I'd be fine downloading each sample game forum post separately, but I haven't been able to do that either.

Any help would be appreciated!

Edit: I also just tried httrack with no results either:
httrack "https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/all-leaders-challenge-game-strategy-session-montezuma.168755/" "+https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/all-leaders-challenge-game-strategy-session-montezuma.168755/" -v

Does anyone have video proof of successfully using Soulsucker on Garl Vinland in the original Demon's Souls?

All of the wikis say that you can use Soulsucker on Garl (to the extent of having two different sections about ways to do it in the tips section), but I've just spent a solid half hour landing square hit after square hit on him, and no dice. I've tried catalyst in left hand, right hand, and even got him stuck on some geometry where I tried angle after angle with no luck.

At this point I'm convinced that the wikis are wrong, and that you can't use Soulsucker on Garl Vinland in either the Remake or the original game. I may just be bad, but I don't think even I can be that bad for that long with dozens of hits that look like they're squarely connecting.

I've looked around a bit and haven't actually found any evidence of anyone else being able to successfully do so either - does anyone here have any additional info on this?

Maybe it's just black phantom Garl that it works on? I haven't checked yet, but that's definitely not what the wiki says.

Edit: Can confirm that it does work on BP Garl (first try - I've had a lot of practice), but not on regular Garl. Wiki seems to be conclusively wrong.

Any way to share iPad screen over Zoom on Mint?

My wife recently switched over to Mint instead of upgrading to Windows 11, and everything has worked perfectly except for one thing.

The Zoom app for Windows has native iPad integration, making it super easy for her to use her iPad when on a Zoom call, but the Zoom app for Linux doesn't seem to have the same functionality.

Does anyone know of a way (preferably in Zoom, but also out of it if necessary) to easily share her iPad screen over a Zoom call?

UPDATE: So, it's been confirmed that the option to connect an iPad wirelessly to a PC on a Zoom meeting is not available in the Linux version of Zoom, because it's a proprietary function on both Mac and Windows. The option is literally just not there in the Linux Zoom version.

We ended up going with UxPlay, which isn't perfect, but it was better for her purposes than just doing the Zoom call on the iPad.

Note that if UxPlay is laggy, you should start it with the command "uxplay -vsync no" to disable the audio/video syncing function, which apparently makes it behave more like a traditional stream, which is what she needed. And since she was only using it to draw and take notes for the group, she had no need for audio.

Thanks everyone for all of the help. At this point I'm considering the issue solved, though the solution is a bit clunkier and more awkward than we'd like. Still, she's so tired of proprietary BS (even moreso now) and so glad to see her computer actually not acting like it's moving through molasses on bloated, last-legs Windows 10 that I think she's willing to accept a reasonable amount of clunk in Mint with a pretty big smile. :)
