Social identity is a helluva drug
If only they agreed that Social Security, Universal Healthcare and just being nice to each other is better for everyone.
If we try to increase the quality of life for everyone, we'll have a better world.

From the trailer of Wolfenstein: The New Order (2014)
I recently did a playthrough again. And the sequel; The New Colossus. And now I'm playing Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.
We should take an example to these games from Machinegames and at the very least, punch Nazis.

I actually thought Jack Black did a good job with claptrap. He was just as annoying, which is praise in this case.

An Older Everyday Car UK
I've never bought a new car, it's just way too expensive in the Netherlands, especially with the added sales tax imposed on new or imported cars.
But try to read up on the model you're interested in, because maintenance will be your new greatest cost, depending on the car, brand, model, engine, fuel type. There should be enough online resources (UK specific) that summarise these for you. Unfortunately I only know Dutch resources.

Not completely convinced by the format, but worth a try

I'm on lemmy.world through Boost, but have lots of communities from fediverse and other Lemmy's and whatnot (still learning how it all works).
What is wrong with lemmy.world and what do you recommend?

For a lot of people at 60+, writing things down is easier and safer. It will also help anyone that would need to troubleshoot or in the event of death in a very simple way.

First time using Steam+Proton in Linux. HOLY SHIT!
I went full Linux this spring. Got fed up with Windows 11 and had a great experience with my Steamdeck, so I installed Pop!_OS and have been a happy gamer ever since.
Just need to reinstall everything probably, because I have a few very weird bugs. I got workarounds, but they're temporary and annoying.

(MicroOS) Starfield 1440p Ultra - 7900X 7900XTX
People are saying this? Well I'm running it on Pop!_OS 3440x1440 with a Ryzen 5600 and 6900XT at at least 60fps. Unsure at the FSR or scaling level though, but it's not bothering me. And my perception of performance and quality is what actually matters.

The official support of Windows 7 has finally ended today!

Maybe I should try OpenSUSE first when I'll switch my gaming desktop back to Linux. My first Linux experience was with SuSE 6.2 and that was very positive. Good to hear people are still happy about it.

You teleport into the last game world you played. What happens next?
Got a nice job with autonomy, quite a bit of credits and a sweet spaceship. If only we could have cats in Starfield

I hate the stealth missions
I think it really depends on the perks you have in stealth and related perks. Because I have quite a few (not maxed), and thought it was very doable. Although I was about lvl 50 during the ryujin quest.

I think that's what I need to remember, Reddit is absolutely humongous compared to Lemmy.

Ultra wide vs. Multi-monitor setup?
Reply in thread
Same here. In the end, my second monitor was a window with chat and one with a browser while I was gaming or watching a video on the other. I can do that with one ultra wide as well. I have to alt+tab anyway.

I'll try to keep that in my mind. So far it feels like the "local" and "all" selections in Boost, which I guess come from world, are not very varied. Reddits' r/all is just everything, which is great. It gives you a very varied, unfiltered (seemingly) feed

Pop OS has specific Nvidia settings as well. Works pretty good on my work laptop, though I don't have gaming experience with that combination.
My own pc is and only and runs pretty good with Pop OS, in some cases better than Windows.

Horizontal boost to gamepad, unable to get forwards to work.
I'm afraid this is something Bethesda has to fix with an update, because the way it works with a keyboard is freaky as well.
If you are standing on the ground and use alternate jump, you jump. But if you press it again, you forward boost. They should've assigned forward boost to the running mapping or something. That would be more apparent

Remember a month ago, when I posted about a bug causing hostile ships to turn up empty? More info has surfaced
Wonder what these quests are then. I had it too and because I also had landing enemy spaceships without opening their landing bays... I moved to NG+, which solved it as well 😅

OTOH, Chinese EV market share is on the rise... Let's hope more, small and cheap EVs are coming from the European car makers. A.k.a. the Twingo, a small Panda and the ID1 and ID2

This. I already switched to Proton Unlimited a while back. It's Swiss but also has a host of tools that replace Microsoft/Google for me. I don't intend to switch again so soon.
