It's (almost) never in your best interest to talk to the police. "Anything you say can and will be used against you." Invoke the 5th, then remain silent. You should also know your state's laws about identifying yourself. In my state, you must produce your id when pulled over operating a vehicle, but otherwise you're not required to id yourself. You don't have to let them enter your home without a warrant, either.

There was an attempt to join the Reddit blackout

I'm curious what comes next. I already quit Reddit, but I'm still invested in the outcome. I spent well over a decade on Reddit, so I wanna know how this plays out. I'm really loving the Lemmy community, and I don't plan on going back to Reddit (won't say never, cuz if they backpedal and make appropriate changes I'd be willing to go back for some things, but it'll never be at my old usage rates).

Every damn time

Or you're like me, and you panic, thinking you somehow slept through the night and it's 8:37 AM, so you sprint around in an adrenaline-fueled frenzy, trying to get ready because you're already super late for work, and why didn't anyone call/wake you up?!?! And then you realize it's dusk outside, and everybody else is home, and you feel stupid.

And that, my friends, is why I use a 24 hour clock now.

There seems to be a correlation between civility and willingness to put up with spez. If you're willing to put up with all the bs he's been spewing since this started, you're less civil. All the respectful people came here, or are finding other replacements. People who don't care stayed, and it shows.

So Lemmy just became, in one week, the second software with the most users on the [#Fediverse](https://mamot.fr/tags/Fediverse)? [@lemmy](https://lemmy.ml/c/lemmy)

Jerboa for Lemmy isn't bad, and it already has more features than it did when I joined a week ago, so I think it'll keep improving. I also know that at least a few refugees have posted that they're working on apps for Lemmy, too, and basing them on their preferred 3rd party app for Reddit. There won't be a lack of good options for Lemmy apps.
