GameStop CEO Gets Banned From eBay While Trying to Buy eBay
eBay suspended GameStop CEO Ryan Cohen’s account after he launched a publicity stunt to “fund” his $56 billion unsolicited bid for the company. Cohen listed personal items—including a life-sized Halo 2 statue drawing $10,000+ bids, vintage Willie Mays baseball cards, and literal socks—claiming the sales would help finance the acquisition.
The platform apparently didn’t appreciate the irony of someone using their service to raise money to buy them out. GameStop secured a “highly confident” letter from TD Securities for $20 billion in debt financing, but that leaves a casual $36 billion gap for a company worth roughly $12 billion trying to acquire a $48 billion marketplace.

What are some alternatives to Google Docs?
https://etherpad.org/ lets you set up your own instance or sign up to free existing instances for online document collaboration. It seems very on par with Google Docs.
https://www.collaboraonline.com/collabora-online/ has wide document format compatibility and is most comparable to M$ 360, but you need to sign up for a free demo and I don't know how long that lasts or what it costs afterwards.
https://cryptpad.fr/ This is the one I've personally used the most without ever creating an account. It uses OnlyOffice, is e2ee, easy to create and share. Without an account, your document is deleted after 90 days. With a free account, you get 1GB of storage and the ability to share folders and collaborate with other users.
The safest option is always just work in the offline editor of your choice and send it back and forth securely with edits or comments. Keep each revision saved separately so you can go back if needed.
Good luck with your book!

Woah. Never once in my life have I heard that reasoning for not pulling the lever. I have always thought that since I was actively choosing not to pull it, that it was still a direct effect of my choice. I fully believe that people think the way you just described and now I have to reevaluate humanity.

The Game Awards Needs To Drop The Act And Just Become Winter E3
They're not an expo, though. What they're doing is working for them. There's no need to try and be anything else.
Edit: After actually reading the article, I agree with the complaints. The award show aspect has fallen to the wayside and they should drop the act or do it differently.

Right? Sick people not being able to afford to go to the doctor could be another reason.
Maybe also the millions of unhealthy people who were more heavily affected by COVID in the past 4+ years being wiped out?

Games with graphics resembling PS1 or PS2?
Pseudoregalia is a 3D platformer/Metroidvania with a low poly art style a la PS1.
Beeny Super Kiwi 64 is a 3D platformer where you play as a kiwi, reminiscent of N64 era RARE games.
Edit: I meant Super Kiwi 64. Beeny is by the same dev but more like an SNES game such as Donkey Kong Country.

Exciting New Trailer Released For Gex Trilogy | Retro Gaming News 24/7
No. It's not a remaster or remake or even a port. LRG are predators and market manipulators. They're preying on your nostalgia with the hopes that you'll pay top dollar for the most "premium" version of their release by creating a false sense of scarcity. All of this just so people can own a "new" physical copy of a disc or cartridge running a few games on an emulator.

It's a simple app that leverages a built in android feature and nothing more. I use it for the same reason as the guy above you. There's no updates to be made.

What type of site do you hope becomes popular on the Fediverse next?
Pixelfed is working on stories which I'm really excited about. I love that kind of daily watch to catch up without posting on a feed that is always there. I think I've found myself hoping for a fully fleshed out discord replacement as well. Easy to manage servers with categories and channels, roles and permissions, etc.

How’s the progress of (insert retro game title) going?
Finally playing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney for the first time and it's such a treat. I can see why people love this series. I'm almost finished with it I think!

What band did you hear one song of, check the rest of their music, and find it was a one-off and none of their other music sounds like that?
My introduction to Cake was Arco Arena.
Now I enjoy Cake, but Arco Arena is not a great representation of their music, even though that song rules in its own right.

This is an Android thing. In your Settings > Apps > Default Apps > Opening Links > YouTube - Disallow "open supported links"
Depending on your phone, the way to get there might be different, but it's the operating system that handles links.
