Trump Ordered to Pay Over $350 Million and Barred From New York Business

Reply in thread

I'm no expert by any means but I think once he's kicked out of NY, it's going to be pretty difficult for him to get back in.

He also has the court appointed monitor for the next 3 years which he already complained is costing him money (by stopping him from committing more fraud).

On top of that, banks will think twice before doing business with him in the future making it very difficult for him to make money without risking what he already has

While I agree that it should have been much more, I think (well more of a hope) that the long term damage this will do will cost him and his family far more than if he never committed fraud in the first place... Then again, he's shown an amazing ability to avoid consequences this far

Instagram locked my account and forced me to appeal and send a picture of my face, so I sent a picture of Shrek. They deleted my account

Many years ago I had a Facebook account under my real name, and they blocked it and told me to verify ... I did everything they asked and they wouldn't accept it... I recreated it under a fake name (very obvious it's fake since it uses a celeb name) and have been using it for messaging a couple of friends for like a decade now with no issue

Because AI and Crypto use so much electricity, what if a law was made that they had to power it with green energy?

Reply in thread

Just to expand on this, While eth is 99.99% less energy use than Bitcoin, it still added 2.8 kilotonnes of co2 last year which is equal to about 2000 average houses for a year.

It's a negligible amount in the scheme of things, but a lot for a virtual currency especially when you add up all the various cryptocurrencies out there.

It wouldn't hurt to make all the POS ones use green energy, but probably wouldn't impact anything by itself.

Changing Bitcoin to green energy alone probably would however.

Doctor's misdiagnosis led to 'preventable' death of Indigenous man

When I had an ulcer, I called an ambulance at 3am because the pain was so bad I could hardly breath

The ambo driver didn't want to take me to the hospital and said it was probably just heartburn, but after I insisted they took me... He even made a joke that I must have been fine because I brought a battery pack and people who are having "true emergencies" don't think of those things

At emergency, they kept insisting it was heartburn despite me telling them I know what heartburn feels like

They gave me medicine for heartburn that made the pain so much worse... It was only at that point when I was literally screaming in agony that they decided they better actually investigate

Half hour later I was on a helicopter to Sydney for surgery

They wasted well over an hour telling me I just had heartburn before they even decided to start investigating it.

I can only imagine the pain this poor man went through at home after the drs Palmed him off
