I could bet a good buck that the plan is to give in to Russia. It's what every Republican wants for whatever mysterious reason.

70% of Republican voters stand with Ukraine

-42
lemmings.world

100% of Republican voters support someone who insulted the parents of a killed soldier on a national stage and has secret buddy-buddy meetings with the person invading Ukraine. The fuck should we care what they think?

67

He also withheld aid to Ukraine in an attempt to get dirt on his opponent. Literally what part of his impeachment trial was about.

One is old and unlikeable.

The other is old and unlikeable and a rapist and a felon and wants to end democracy.

You get to set your own priorities.

(X) DOUBT

Not enough to affect the way they vote apparently. Or punish their candidates in primaries. Or push for change through the party apparatus. Or or or.

hey now! they care about justice and world order and protecting people from bullies

just not as much as bullying queers and court orders against abortions and justice for… not being christian?

Nope there was a survey recently, that showed a clear majority among Republican voters support Ukraine.
Unfortunately that is not the case for Trump and the crazy MAGA crowd. And they are the ones running the show.
Some of them are probably also delusional enough to believe Trump will help Ukraine with the peace plan Trump claims to have. Despite every sane person knows Trump will just demand Ukraine to yield, because they are not getting any more help.

Of course the support for Ukraine is bigger among Democrat voters, but that doesn't change that there also is a clear majority among Republican voters.

Yeah, I'll admit I've been hearing too much Alex Jones on Knowledge Fight. He seems to speak for the great majority of conservatwats so I assumed.

I'm not sure where you got the figure from but I looked it up and the polling seems messy. But I guess 3/4 of Republicans having an unfavorable view of Putin as reported by PBS is something that doesn't make me lose hope in humanity today. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/u-s-adults-split-along-party-lines-in-support-for-ukraine-military-aid-ap-norc-poll-finds

Editing to add these pretty graphs by Pew Research that show nothing surprising: https://www.pewresearch.org/global/2024/05/08/views-of-ukraine-and-u-s-involvement-with-the-russia-ukraine-war/

It's not possible to vote for Trump and support Ukraine at the same time. These are polar opposites.

He will release it in 2 weeks, along with that healthcare plan that's coming in 2 weeks

Ummm, “official act” to remove you permanently and anyone else that stands in the way?

Oh well, if it might be an official act, then I guess he's presumptively immune, so no one could possibly investigate.

But they announced already did they not.

  • Ukraine and Russia start peace negotiations where Ukraine has to make concessions.
  • If Ukraine refuses, no more aid
  • If Russia refuses, more aid for ukraine

I don't believe them, but this was what camp Trump communicated. Or am I wrong.

Two of his advisors said that and then his spokesman said only statements made by Trump himself or authorised members of his campaign should be considered official

That’s why it’s official policy that you should choose electrocution over shark attack if you are in an electric boat.

From the start that is unacceptable. Russia should be making concessions, not Ukraine. Russia is the aggressor. Russia is in the wrong. All of the deaths and all of the destruction are the sole responsibility of Putin and his toadies.

6

Agreed. But in the world view of Putin, Russia is a great power and the states in Russias orbit of influence are their vassals to do with as they please.

And if then colonial oppressors come along and start to tell these countries they have the right to freedom, self determination and all that nonsense, that disrupts the right of Russia to loot and pillage these countries.

So when Ukranians said "no" to Russia, they needed to be hammered back into their place. And it is all the fault of the west for getting these stupid ideas into their heads.

Same with Trump. Everyone knows his reputation. So of you are dumb enough to do work for him without getting "cash up front", you deserve not getting paid. And shame on the Justice Department for then getting the idea that he should be held to account.

''Well if I tell you now it'll ruin the plan, you see it's gotta be a surprise''

He literally said this the last election.

@Snowclone "I won't tell you about my plan, but what I can say is that I have a great plan. The greatest plan the world can imagine. It's the greatest of them all. It's a plan that will make America Great Again. I think about my plan every day, every night, every time I go to the bathroom, everytime. And Mexico is going to pay for it, as always."
