None of you will convince me that this wasn't foreshadowing

It kinda annoys me to see people say "Elon revolutionized electric cars and space travel"

No. No he didn't.

Tesla took full advantage of economies of scale. If you mass produce an item, you can sell it for cheaper and still make a profit. Elon did not create Tesla, he bought it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Tesla,_Inc. So it's fair to argue that Tesla's idea was likely not Elon's idea. He just bankrolled it

SpaceX created a reusable rocket. However that's not the first time they were created, https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reusable_launch_vehicle#:~:text=In%20the%201960s%20and%201970s,were%20reduced%20to%20prototype%20testing. So spaceX took an idea that had been proven as a proof of concept, productized it and... Took advantage of economies of scale, again.

Elon isn't a genius. He just has enough money and the right people who manage him to successfully pull off other people's ideas and take advantage of economies of scale.

Ps: to be faiiiiiir

Is gstatic.com safe to whitelist on a secure network?

Based on this quick article, https://softwarekeep.com/help-center/what-is-gstatic-com#:~:text=Gstatic%20is%20a%20special%20website,%2C%20pictures%2C%20and%20style%20sheets. It feels like just allowing all of gstatic is a bit of a security nightmare. I'd push back and have them identify the parts of gstatic they actually need for their website to work and allow those.

Alternatively, if this application needs a cdn but is only intended for local hosting in the secure network, perhaps a locally hosted cdn could be a good idea.

Without knowing the security in place it's hard to do much beyond give general maybe this or that.

Welp that answers a lot of why all .ml are down

Reply in thread

I can answer this. The organization that says mali owns .ml gives the ownership country a lot of sway.

So if the country of mali were to reach out formally to the organization and say "hey this domain violates our laws" they would take that very seriously and then work with the registrar & authoritative nameserver owner to handle the situation.

I'm sure this isn't 100% accurate but 90-95 based on my work in a web hosting company
