The best people...

I don't personally believe in what she believes in, but it's perfectly reasonable for someone who grew up during this country's Reagan era to truly and genuinely believe that serving in the military is a valuable and fulfilling purpose that's greater and more important than the needs of a single family.

Maybe it's clown makeup, but wouldn't it be nice to feel some sense of purpose in your life rather than spending it shit talking people on the internet?

It didn't start with the media, it started with the crypto libertarians and tech bros. I might be misremembering but I think the news media got on their knees in the mid 2010s.

Well, that and the stupid cameo in iron man. But in general when people say media these days they mean the fourth estate not paramount pictures

Users Don’t Care About Your Tech Stack

In contrast, banks all universally moved to single page apps lately, and every one of them sucks. Some suck more (we don't support you having more than one tab open while you are researching stocks) and some suck less (what is the back button for, anyway? Just ignore it). But they all suck.

And yes, users do care about using shitty stacks when they make shitty results.

Every generation is peddled two insane concepts:

When they are young, they are told that they have a weird bizarre vernacular which sounds stupid to everyone else.

Then when they are old, they are told young people have a weird bizarre vernacular which sounds stupid to everyone else.

Then you die.

I mean you're right about banks but your examples make no sense.

Banks generally don't support 2fa, which is bad. Some banks (fidelity) still have character limits on passwords because they stores it in plaintext until recently so you could use it through the telephone system. They could implement a secure tap to pay system on your phones with enhanced security, rather than relying on Google to handle their job. And for credit cards themselves, switch to chip and pin.

"Banks don't have mobile apps"?? "Signatures are secure"?????🤡
