For sure, much of life feels like a chore. You can enjoy it or not is what it boils down to much of the time.

I've tried to hold the idea of if it's worth doing it's worth doing well. And generally doing the best I can, especially if I fuck hate what I have to do. It makes looking back easier. And in some ways generates respect and then elevated me out of some shit to less shitty shit

Till they get a stable Arch install.... Then it's like let me try that other Desktop Environment...

Back in the day, Windows had a weakness in the config.sys and autoexec.bat

and Futureshop pissed me off...

so I made their display machines blue screen on boot and then fubar Windows, so they had to system restore.

I use windows at work and it's not really something that I think about. Microsoft does more shit to azure that drives me fucking nuts. Screens/settings change in the middle of the day like WTF

So using Linux on my home systems is my refuge. Bliss. It's exactly as I left it, EVERY TIME

My wife loved the book in her tween years and encouraged me to read it... I'm not the intended audience for sure and some of the ideas were cool but that book sucks lol

I'm still bitter about the first Spiderman movie (the Toby McGuire one). Like growing up, Spiderman was my favorite comic character and I spent a lot of time and money following it.

I almost walked out of the theater when Spiderman let the guy who killed his uncle fall to his death. Like JFC this is THE most important moment of Peter's life and what he always goes back to when he's in a moral dilemma.

It's made me sour on watching any of the other Spiderman movies.

I don't speak to either of my parents. Both are still alive from what I can tell. My mom has deep mental health issues she refuses to accept and deal with. She probably has dementia and last time I spoke with her she thought everyone in the family was dead. Her story is sad and I tried for years to help her but you can't help someone who won't help themselves.

My father was never really around me growing up. I didn't even know who he was until I was like 8 and he was in the hospital because he almost died in a drunken car wreck. He killed his best friend and crippled his best friends brother. I was homeless and asked to live with him when I was 15. He was always drunk but one night after coming home from the bar slurring drunk and threatened to shoot me in the head with his shotgun in the wood shed, I went and lived with my best friend for a year and then my older sister for the last year in highschool. Later in life I tried to reconnect with him but one day he showed up on my doorstep demanding money for a car he cosigned and I couldn't afford so we turned it over to the bank. He demanded I pay him back because it hurt his credit score. Like the dude was never in my life and didn't pay child support or when he did it was always late. Caused me a lot of pain and suffering.

I unloaded years worth of pain and suffering he caused me that day and haven't spoken to him in over 30 years.

There was a "what if" series of comics that touched on it and the premise was what if Peter didn't save the guy. So it wasn't unheard of but still not something that a first run movie that's basically telling Spider-Man's origin story should be doing

I'm am, thank you. My wife and I have been married for 20+ years and I have been successful in my life enough to be well on my way to being debt free and home payed for years before retirement.

Early in my life I decided to approach big decisions by asking myself what would my parents do and then avoiding those choices. Worked out really well.

I wish my grandparents were around... It's is and always will be the biggest loss of my life. Sometimes I will have a moment of pure bliss in remembering them and usually it's gone in a blink of the eye.

If you have those people in your life, cherish it and make sure to absorb everything so they will live on through you
