J.K. Rowling, Elon Musk Named in Imane Khelif's Cyberbullying Lawsuit

So we all agree there are exceptions to freedom of speech, like the proverbial person shouting "Fire!" in a crowded theater, right? But you think incitement to violence is fine as long as you say it with a tweet instead of with your mouth? What a loophole!

Project 2025 Private Training Video: Left-Wing Code Words and Language
Reply in thread
I made it through about 10 minutes, and it's exactly as hypocritical as you'd imagine.
The left wants to weaponize language by calling abortion "reproductive health care." They prefer this because it sounds a little less like "murder." /smugface
Yeah, and you want to weaponize language by calling abortion murder. Your defense of that is, "But we're right. It is murder." In much the same way that the left's defense is, "But we're right. It is health care."
They're just describing how people have always argued with words, but they want to weaponize language by referring to argument itself as "weaponizing language" (but only when the demonic commies do it) so that arguing for any viewpoint left of theirs is tantamount to violent crime. With a weapon.

I've got the daily low-dose version, and it's changed my life. True to expectation from a dissociative drug, it causes me not to feel so much personal identification with the unwanted thoughts that keep bubbling up in my head. It may not work for everyone, but it works for me.

Remember to conserve propellant!

Even without actively accelerating toward the sun, something starting on earth is already orbiting the sun at about 100,000 km/h. You'd have to cancel that out by accelerating the same amount in the opposite direction just to be able to fall into the sun's gravity well instead of continuing to orbit. That would take quite a bit of propellant.

The city here has had the bright idea of getting cops to go door-to-door to ask if you need anything.
You want extrajudicial executions? Cause this is how you get extrajudicial executions.

Fuck, now I'm crying too. I've lost friends and family to this mental illness. There is much to mourn. The values that you and I share are not the values of the Americans who wield national power right now, nor their cult. Many of us are fighting for our values over here. And your unconditional message of friendship means so much. Thank you. I feel the same way. Fuck the imaginary lines on the map. I pledge allegiance to YOU, and to any other individual, wherever they are, who believes in basic human decency: honesty, respect, compassion, non-aggression... against the psychopaths who don't.

I was unhappy with past therapists and turned to ChatGPT. It helped me open up about trauma and make changes in my life.
Reply in thread
In my experience (which, to be fair, seems to be different from many people's), it couldn't be any worse than the real thing. 12 different licensed and trained medical providers each responded to my complaints about the ongoing traumas in my life with some variation of "Sure, but focus on the positives!" I'd have been better off saving the money and venting to a chatbot, if venting did anything for me.
Please don't tell me to see a 13th. I'm completely done with the idea.

Time is not an illusion. It’s an object with physical size | Aeon Essays
They wrote that whole ass article and never stopped to consider that time may be both an illusion (in the sense that it is an emergent rather than a fundamental property of existence) AND necessary for the evolution of life (in the sense that other hypothetical configurations of physical laws which do not feature an emergent arrow of time may not produce life).
In regions of the set of all possible universes where the physical prerequisites of evolution were not present, nobody would be there wondering about why that is. In this region, conditions are right for life to evolve, so somebody is here to ask the question. It's just the anthropic principle.
