But if they stop keep deleting “niche” content from Wikipedia, then people won’t have to use Fandom instead.

You know, the commercial, ad infested wiki that was also founded by a Wikipedia co-founder.

Am British, can confirm. Some of the pavements I walk on are like crazy slalom courses.

It’s not great for drivers either. We possibly have too many road signs, to the point it’s distracting more than informative.

The mistake was to pre-roll the dice. Security could have been greatly improved by providing the randomness as a service, with the developer being paid a monthly fee to roll the dice for each function call.

Top controller layout becomes default for everyone if the devs don’t set one.

What could possibly go wrong…oh.

They can often be like mini fairs these days, there was one locally last year that had amusements, street food, a halloween maze and all sorts.

These handhelds keep getting more impressive, but also more expensive.

So far I’m sticking to simpler, smaller and cheaper units like the Miyoo Mini. I’m much more likely to EDC them because if they get lost/stolen etc it’s a lot less to cry over.

With these sorts told prices being rumoured I’m not sure how viable this next generation is going to be.

Disposable incomes are dwindling, future economic prospects look…uncertain to put it positively. Parents especially sleek unlikely to spend 4 figures on a console when their kids already have phones.

I got a DS on launch day with Super Mario 64DS and I had a moment being a bit stunned thinking “Wow I’m playing a 3D console game on a handheld”.

Took me a while to trust the close to suspend feature. I think the GBA SP could do that before but only on certain games.

Reddit killed 3rd party apps, but people still need somewhere to get memes while pooping.

I think that about media in general. Before ubiquitous internet access there was a sense of excitement about the unknown and discovering new things.

Now it feels as if everything is revealed instantly and “spoiled” before that excitement has time to build.

It’s not just the economic model that’s pushing people to retro, it’s the creative direction as well.

For some of us the kinds of games we like just aren’t made much now. Which has been partially influenced by monetisation but there’s been a shift in taste too.

The right sentiment but without enough inspectors and transport police to enforce it it’s practically meaningless.

Our politicians seem to view laws as being like magic spells, which become unbreakabely binding once spoken.

So now Windows bloat is extending to the physical keyboard itself.

Looking at the Microsoft blog post they haven't said exactly how they want keyboard layouts to change. So on a full size keyboard this could be either new key entirely, or replace an existing (and arguably more useful) key.

As a British person that's something I thought I'd never see.

Arrested on his birthday too.

With how aggressive Microsoft is becoming with ads, services, and data collection they could at least make Windows itself free.

But no, you still have to pay £100+ per license to have the pleasure of putting up with this crap.

Kids have been watching plenty of brain melting videos before AI came along too.

If you want kid’s brains to stay nice and firm don’t let them be raised by a tablet.

Yet another reminder that “the cloud” is really just “someone else’s computer”. The end users of cloud based products are controlled by “someone else’s” rules and whims.

Oh look, yet another reason to use an ad blocker.

So a supposedly cutting edge $3500 device plus an additional $300 dongle gets a wired connection speed from the year 2000. USB 2 is 24 years old

Welcome to the future folks.
