Hey quick rant, I'm a professor and due to budget cuts they cut our MS Office so it's online only. I was already getting into non-slop software but now I need to check for compatibility using the browser version, since podiums only have Office and we're supposed to use that.

So what I'm trying to say is, I'm feeling this right now. Shit doesn't even have master slides or mathematical formula editing, ffs.

If you ever need to drive the point home, half of our states are only important to the people who live in them. Sure, California or New York is comparable to say, France or Germany, and impact the world stage; but our deep South or Midwest is probably more comparable to the Balkans or the Baltics, etc. I'm sure they're lovely, of course, but... they aren't exactly a focus.

I'll keep that in mind. Quite a few of the games need a battery change but I think you're right about LttP. I emulate though so it's not as essential as it used to be, it'll be more relevant when I want to share the old ways with my kids when they're a little older.

Technically Yuzu was, allegedly, using something proprietary to run properly. I think the same is true of Ryujinx, although not sure. Now I'm not sure if it's true, given they settled out of court, and honestly we do know the REAL reason is the bottom line but legally they can't use that argument. Ironically I don't think it's even illegal to profit off an emulator, lol.

That said, emulators are legal in the same way a bong is legal while weed might not be. It's technically illegal to use roms/isos you yourself didn't rip, even if you have the cartridge or disk (and thus, license) of that game because it's not a copy of your cartridge or disk, but it'd be pretty annoying to prove you didn't rip it yourself as you'd probably need to go into the code to see if there's a unique identifier. I'm not sure if that's ever been tested in court, though I wouldn't want to try it.

My kid just started TK and the school is serving such a high poverty area that they give free breakfast and lunch. It's hard to pass up, and isn't the worst quality in the world but still a little more sugar than I'd prefer. Fruit yes, vegetable no, and loads of dairy (which is a thing thanks to US subsidizing farms, this is where that surplus goes. Corn syrup, too though, unfortunately).

It's also kind of a lot of trouble for two working parents to prep a lunch for multiple kids every day. Leftovers are great, but they don't always hold for the few hours they're in a bag. I'm allowed to bring food to them at 11:30am, but I'm working so it's a non starter. My daughter also attends a Japanese Saturday school though and prepping a bento box is required.

I really like the barista style oat milk. It's more expensive but it's definitely thicker. I haven't tried frothing though, looks pretty good to me honestly.

Yeah, that's good to clarify; my girl attends a special school in the US that originally was designed to keep native Japanese kids up to date with language while living in the US because of a father's international work, etc., sometimes not even for a full semester. They've since had you start accepting US born kids too, so long as they're proficient in Japanese.

They're housed within a public school but are ultimately private so they don't have access to facilities like that.

Actually... in their defense, some towns were completely wiped out by floods, it's quite a massive "once in a lifetime" storms we've been getting thanks to climate change. I've a friend in Indiana that works for insurance as a mold specialist, he was out quite a bit last week and had to go to sites in a boat.

That said, you want a real target to shit on? He told me the company isn't honoring almost any claims since most aren't sold on real flood insurance (it's not a place known to flooding). None the less, they're soulless ghouls.
