Regional pizza
I do get pretty tired of food snobbery. Try it! You might like it! Worst thing that happens is you don't eat it again.

Voters don’t have a clue about how much worse Trump’s second term would be
Reply in thread
I wish more Americans would look in the mirror that is Donald Trump and be ashamed of who we are, because we can’t begin to do anything without recognizing what monstrous values we have.
You are saying something I haven't heard in a lot of discourse. Kudos and my upvote.

Trump Flipped Out That 'Lunatic' Project 2025 Could Tank His Campaign
Reply in thread
In no place does Trump specify which ideas he disagrees with in Project 2025. He just doesn't want to be associated with it. He is not really disavowing the ideas though, AFAIK. And at least for the anti-choice people, Trump has done much that is in line with Project 2025. And he mirrors many of their ideas on immigration.

AOC Backs Biden Amid Growing Calls for Him to Drop Out: ‘He Is in This Race and I Support Him’

Maybe I agree with some of this comment. But that "honey" at the beginning comes off as pretty patronizing. At least, to me.

They called an "emergency meeting" this week to solve the mystery
I quit them about 10 years ago when I asked for spinach on my sandwich and they gave me 3 small leaves of spinach for an upcharge. That and their instantly stale tasting bread made me done with the particular store and all Subway stores. Was a shame, because they were convenient to where I worked.

Republican lawmakers want to stop businesses in a small Florida town from displaying rainbow stickers to show they are a safe place for LGBTQ+ people
Why wouldn't the article name the Republicans that signed the letter? Seems like poor journalism?

When you order “authentic” Mexican food in Iowa
This post is curiously short of details as to where such a feast is found in Iowa. I'll give you a hint: there is a lot of good Mexican food in Iowa. It is usually in hole-in-the wall restaurants that don't look like anything, and are owned by Mexican families. My guess is this food is from some sort of "family" restaurant. And the family is not Mexican or South American in ethnicity.

It is because all you had was those weird black and orange taffies. No-one can eat those.

Israel Threatens 'Severe Consequences' for Nations Who Recognize Palestine
Those nations should pass resolutions forbidding Israel from setting up settlements within their border and cutting off water to their populations. Completely useless resolutions, but it would put a fine point on it.

19-page PDF accuses Wikipedia of bias against Israel, suggests editors be forced to reveal their real names, and demands a new feature allowing people to view the history of Wikipedia articles
You know, not having read Wikipedia on Israel, and not taking a stand, those that think Wikipedia is biased could put up a simple wiki like page that lists the biases and rewrites the article in a way that they would consider unbiased. This would be in the spirit of Wikipedia. People could really decide for themselves.

The cruelty is the point
So, my first question is why hasn't it been an issue before? Was the timing so that they wouldn't miss a payment? Or was there a vote to make an exception for snap? Not in favor of this at all, I just don't understand the mechanisms of a lot of this.

AOC accuses Republicans of making up evidence in Biden hearing

This is terrible reporting. Could the Guardian have shown the screenshot? Could they have asked what the context was? I don't understand why this all is behind a mostly opaque screen. Why we are being told something that obfuscates what was said rather than giving us the chance to judge for ourselves.
